PA Speakers for

Suspended Ceilings

These instructions are intended for installers

with sufﬁcient knowledge of 100 V technology

for PA applications. Please read the instructions

carefully prior to installation and keep them for

later reference.

1 Applications

These speakers for suspended ceilings are specially

designed for applications in PA systems using 100 V

technology. They are based on the principle of open

sound wall technology and are suitable for being

placed on suspended ceilings or for free suspension.

2 Important Notes

The speaker corresponds to all relevant directives of

the EU and is therefore marked with .

•

The speaker is suitable for indoor use only. Protect

it against dripping water and splash water, high air

humidity and heat (admissible ambient tempera-

ture range 0 – 40 °C).

•

For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth; never use

chemicals or water.

•

No guarantee claims for the speaker and no liabil-

ity for any resulting personal damage or material

dam age will be accepted if the speaker is used

for other purposes than originally intended, if it

is not correctly installed or connected, or if it is

overloaded.

If the speaker is to be put out of oper-

ation deﬁnitely, dispose of the speaker in

accordance with local regulations.

3 Installation

WARNING During operation, there is a hazard

of contact with a dangerous voltage

of up to 100 V at the connection

cable. Installation must be carried

out by skilled personnel only.

Observe the load of the PA ampliﬁer by the

speakers. Overload may damage the PA ampliﬁer!

The total power of all speakers connected must not

exceed the ampliﬁer power.

1) Depending on the way of mounting, place the

speaker on the suspended ceiling (a) or suspend it

from the upper ceiling (b). For suspension, three

7 mm drill holes are provided in the sound wall.

For placing and mounting the speaker, a minimum

distance between the ceilings of 100 mm has to

be taken into account and for suspending it, a

minimum distance of 250 mm (see drawing).

2) Prior to connecting the speaker, switch off the PA

system completely, so that the 100 V audio cable

from the PA ampliﬁer will not carry any voltage!

3) Connect the speaker cable to the 100 V audio

cable from the PA ampliﬁer: Connect the white

core and one of the other coloured cores which

corresponds to the desired power rating (volume)

to the 100 V audio cable.

4) When connecting several speakers, make sure

that all speakers have the same polarity.

ELA-Deckenauﬂagelautsprecher

Diese Anleitung richtet sich an Installateure mit

Fachkenntnissen in der 100-V-Beschallungs-

technik. Bitte lesen Sie die Anleitung vor der

Installation gründlich durch und heben Sie sie

für ein späteres Nachlesen auf.

1 Verwendungsmöglichkeiten

Diese Deckenauﬂagelautsprecher sind speziell für

den Einsatz in Beschallungsanlagen konzipiert, die

mit 100-V-Technik arbeiten. Sie basieren auf dem

Prinzip der Offenen-Schallwand-Technik und eignen

sich für die Auﬂage auf abgehängte Decken oder für

die freie Aufhängung.

2 Wichtige Hinweise

Der Lautsprecher entspricht allen relevanten Richt-

linien der EU und trägt deshalb das -Zeichen.

•

Der Lautsprecher ist nur zur Verwendung im In-

nenbereich geeignet. Schützen Sie ihn vor Tropf-

und Spritzwasser, hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit und Hitze

(zulässiger Einsatztemperaturbereich 0 – 40 °C).

•

Verwenden Sie für die Reinigung nur ein trocke-

nes, weiches Tuch, auf keinen Fall Chemikalien

oder Wasser.

•

Wird der Lautsprecher zweckentfremdet, nicht

fachgerecht montiert, falsch angeschlossen oder

überlastet, kann keine Haftung für daraus resultie-

rende Sach- oder Personenschäden und keine Ga-

rantie für den Lautsprecher übernommen werden.

Soll der Lautsprecher endgültig aus dem

Betrieb genommen werden, entsorgen Sie

ihn gemäß den örtlichen Vorschriften.

3 Installation

WARNUNG Im Betrieb liegt berührungsgefähr-

liche Spannung bis 100 V an der

Anschlussleitung an. Die Installa-

tion darf nur durch Fachpersonal

erfolgen.

Achten Sie auf die Belastung des ELA-Verstärkers

durch die Lautsprecher. Eine Überlastung kann den

Verstärker beschädigen! Die Summe der Leistun-

gen aller angeschlossenen Lautsprecher darf die

Verstärkerleistung nicht überschreiten.

1) -Je nach Montageart den Lautsprecher auf die ab

gehängte Decke (a) auﬂegen oder an der oberen

Decke (b) aufhängen. Für die Aufhängung sind

drei 7-mm-Bohrungen an der Schallwand vorge-

sehen. Bei der Auﬂagemontage ist ein Abstand

zwischen den Decken von mindestens 100 mm

zu berücksichtigen und bei der Aufhängung von

mindestens 250 mm (siehe Zeichnung).

2) Vor dem Anschluss des Lautsprechers die ELA-

Anlage komplett ausschalten, damit die 100-V-

Audioleitung vom ELA-Verstärker spannungsfrei

ist!

3) Die Leitung des Lautsprechers an die 100-V-

Audioleitung vom ELA-Verstärker anschließen:

Die weiße Ader und eine der anderen farbigen

Adern, die der gewünschten Nennbelastung

(Lautstärke) entspricht, mit der 100-V-Audiolei-

tung verbinden.

4) Beim Anschluss von mehreren Lautsprechern

darauf achten, dass die Lautsprecher alle gleich

gepolt werden.
