Flush-Mount PA Hi-Fi Speaker
These instructions are intended for installers
with specific knowledge in sound reproduc-
tion using 100 V technology. Please read the
instructions carefully prior to installation and
keep them for later reference.
1 Applications
This speaker is specially designed for installation
into ceilings or walls. It is suited for PA systems
using 100 V technology; however, in the 8 Ω mode,
it can also be connected to a low-impedance am-
plifier output. The 2-way coaxial system (bass
speaker with waveguide and dome tweeter) offers
excellent sound characteristics.
2 Safety Notes
The speaker corresponds to all relevant directives
of the EU and is therefore marked with .
•
The speaker is suitable for indoor use only. Pro-
tect it against dripping water, splash water and
high air humidity. The admissible ambient tem-
perature range is 0 – 40 °C.
•
For cleaning only use a soft, dry cloth; never use
water or chemicals.
•
No guarantee claims for the speaker and no lia-
bility for any resulting personal damage or ma-
terial damage will be accepted if the speaker is
used for other purposes than originally intended,
if it is not correctly installed or connected, or if
it is overloaded.
If the speaker is to be put out of oper-
ation definitively, take it to a local recy-
cling plant for a disposal which is not
harmful to the environment.
3 Installation
WARNING During operation in 100 V systems,
there is a hazard of contact with a
dangerous voltage of up to 100 V at
the speaker cable. Installation must
be made by skilled personnel only.
Always observe the load of the PA amplifier by
the speakers. An overload may damage the am-
plifier! The total load of the speakers connected
must not exceed the amplifier power.
1) Always switch off the PA amplifier before install-
ing the speaker so that the speaker cable will
not carry any voltage!
2) Saw a mounting hole (diameter: 141 mm) at
a suitable place. The mounting depth must be
69 mm.
3) Connection
8 Ω mode: Disconnect the cable of the 100 V
transformer from the terminals INPUT (
☞ arrow
8 Ω in the figure below) and connect the speaker
via these terminals.
100 V mode: Define the power by selecting the
corresponding terminals (☞ arrow 100 V in the
figure below).
When connecting multiple speakers, make
sure that all speakers have the same polarity.
4) Remove the protective grille from the front of
the speaker. The grille is magnetically held in
place.
5) Insert the speaker into the ceiling or wall. Fasten
the four mounting screws to secure the speaker.
6) Place the small or large grille onto the front of
the speaker.

ELA-Hi-Fi-Einbaulautsprecher
Diese Anleitung richtet sich an Installateure
mit Fachkenntnissen in der 100-V-Beschal-
lungstechnik. Bitte lesen Sie die Anleitung vor
der Installation gründlich durch und heben Sie
sie für ein späteres Nachlesen auf.
1 Verwendungsmöglichkeiten
Dieser Lautsprecher ist speziell für den Einbau in
Decken oder Wände konzipiert. Er eignet sich für
den Einsatz in ELA-Anlagen, die mit 100-V-Technik
arbeiten, kann aber auch im 8-Ω-Betrieb an einen
niederohmigen Verstärkerausgang angeschlossen
werden. Das 2-Wege-Koaxialsystem (Tieftöner mit
Waveguide und Kalottenhochtöner) bietet hervor-
ragende Klangeigenschaften.
2 Sicherheitshinweise
Der Lautsprecher entspricht allen relevanten Richt-
linien der EU und trägt deshalb das -Zeichen.
•
Verwenden Sie den Lautsprecher nur im In-
nenbereich. Schützen Sie ihn vor Tropf- und
Spritzwasser sowie vor hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit.
Der zulässige Einsatztemperaturbereich beträgt
0 – 40 °C.
•
Verwenden Sie für die Reinigung nur ein trocke-
nes, weiches Tuch, auf keinen Fall Chemikalien
oder Wasser.
•
Wird der Lautsprecher zweckentfremdet, nicht
fachgerecht montiert, falsch angeschlossen oder
überlastet, kann keine Haftung für daraus resul-
tierende Sach- oder Personenschäden und keine
Garantie für den Lautsprecher übernommen
werden.
Soll der Lautsprecher endgültig aus dem
Betrieb genommen werden, übergeben
Sie ihn zur umweltgerechten Entsorgung
einem örtlichen Recyclingbetrieb.
3 Installation
WARNUNG Beim Betrieb in 100-V-Anlagen
liegt berührungsgefährliche Span-
nung bis 100 V an der Lautspre-
cherleitung an. Die Installation darf
nur durch Fachpersonal erfolgen.
Achten Sie auf die Belastung des ELA-Verstärkers
durch die Lautsprecher. Eine Überlastung kann
den Verstärker beschädigen! Die Summe der
Leistungen aller angeschlossenen Lautsprecher
darf die Verstärkerleistung nicht überschreiten.
1) Vor der Installation des Lautsprechers den
ELA-Verstärker ausschalten, damit die Lautspre-
cherleitung spannungsfrei ist!
2) An geeigneter Stelle ein Montageloch mit einem
Durchmesser von 141 mm sägen. Es muss eine
Einbautiefe von 69 mm vorhanden sein.
3) Anschluss
8-Ω-Betrieb: Die Leitung des 100-V-Transfor-
mators von den Klemmen INPUT (☞ Pfeil8 Ω in
der Abb.) entfernen und über diese Klemmen
den Lautsprecher anschließen.
100-V-Betrieb: Die Leistung durch Auswahl der
Anschlussklemmen festlegen (☞ Pfeil 100 V in
der Abb.).
Beim Anschluss von mehreren Lautspre-
chern darauf achten, dass die Lautsprecher alle
gleich gepolt sind.
4) Das Schutzgitter, das magnetisch an der Laut-
sprecherfront gehalten wird, abnehmen.
5) Den Lautsprecher in die Decke oder Wand ein-
setzen und durch Anziehen der vier Montage-
schrauben den Lautsprecher festklemmen.
6) Das kleinere oder größere Schutzgitter auf die
Lautsprecherfront aufsetzen.
