The instructions are intended for users with basic
knowledge in audio technology. Please read the
instructions carefully prior to operation and keep
them for later reference.
1 Applications
The microphone switch PB-05E is designed to auto-
matically switch dynamic microphones on and off.
The microphone used must be balanced and a
phantom power supply of 48 V must be available
for the PB-05E.
When you approach the PB-05E, it will route
the microphone signal; when you move away, it
will interrupt the signal so that no ambient noise
is transmitted. The distance at which the PB-05E
routes the microphone signal can be adjusted.
2 Important Notes
The microphone switch corresponds to all relevant
directives of the EU and is therefore marked with .
•
The microphone switch is only suitable for indoor
use or for use in sheltered outdoor areas. Protect
the microphone switch against dripping water,
splash water and high air humidity. The admissi-
ble ambient temperature range is 0 – 40 °C.
•
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth; never use
water or chemicals.
•
No guarantee claims for the microphone switch
and no liability for any resulting personal dam-
age or material damage will be accepted if the
microphone switch is used for other purposes
than originally intended, if it is not correctly
operated, or if it is not repaired in an expert way.
If the PB-05E is to be put out of opera-
tion definitively, take it to a local recycling
plant for a disposal which is not harmful
to the environment.
3 Operation
1) Place the PB-05E between the microphone
and the microphone cable. When inserting the
microphone in the microphone support, make
sure that the IR LEDs (2) are not shadowed by the
microphone stand and have an “unobstructed
view” of the speaker / singer (fig. 2).
2) Make sure that the audio system is switched off
and then switch on the phantom power at the
mixer / amplifier. If no phantom power is availa-
ble or if the phantom power does not provide
48 V, use a phantom power supply unit, such as
EMA-200 from IMG STAGELINE.
3) Make a test run. If the distance at which the
microphone signal is routed and the red LED
indicator (3) lights up is too short, turn the
potentiometer (1) clockwise. If the PB-05E routes
the microphone signals at a distance which is
too long or if the PB-05E always routes the
signals, turn the potentiometer anti-clockwise
accordingly.
Notes:
The IR portion in the sunlight is very high. Therefore,
make sure that no direct sunlight hits the IR LEDs; other-
wise, the PB-05E will not switch correctly.
Black clothes do not reflect the IR signal of the PB-05E
well. If applicable, readjust the switching point after
clothes have been changed.

Diese Anleitung richtet sich an Benutzer mit
Grundkenntnissen in der Audiotechnik. Bitte lesen
Sie die Anleitung vor dem Betrieb gründlich durch
und heben Sie sie für ein späteres Nachlesen auf.
1 Einsatzmöglichkeiten
Der PB-05E dient zum automatischen Ein- und Aus-
schalten von dynamischen Mikrofonen. Das ver-
wendete Mikrofon muss auf jeden Fall symmetrisch
beschaltet sein und es muss eine Phantomspeisung
von 48 V für den PB-05E vorhanden sein.
Bei Annäherung an den PB-05E schaltet er das
Mikrofonsignal durch und beim Entfernen wird das
Signal unterbrochen, sodass dann keine Umge-
bungsgeräusche übertragen werden. Der Abstand,
bei dem der PB-05E das Mikrofonsignal durchschal-
tet, ist einstellbar.
2 Wichtige Hinweise für den Gebrauch
Der Mikrofonschalter entspricht allen relevanten
Richtlinien der EU und trägt deshalb das -Zeichen.
•
Der Mikrofonschalter ist nur zur Verwendung im
Innenbereich oder überdachten Außenbereich ge-
eignet. Schützen Sie ihn vor Tropf- und Spritzwas-
ser sowie hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit. Der zulässige
Einsatztemperaturbereich beträgt 0 – 40 °C.
•
Verwenden Sie zum Reinigen nur ein trockenes,
weiches Tuch, niemals Chemikalien oder Wasser.
•
Wird der Mikrofonschalter zweckentfremdet,
nicht korrekt in Betrieb genommen oder nicht
fachgerecht repariert, kann keine Haftung für
daraus resultierende Sach- oder Personenschä-
den und keine Garantie für den PB-05E über-
nommen werden.
Soll der PB-05E endgültig aus dem Be-
trieb genommen werden, übergeben Sie
ihn zur umweltgerechten Entsorgung
einem örtlichen Recyclingbetrieb.
3 Inbetriebnahme
1) Den PB-05E zwischen das Mikrofon und das
Mikrofonkabel stecken. Das Mikrofon so in die
Mikrofonhalterung stecken, dass die IR-LEDs(2)
nicht durch das Mikrofonstativ abgeschattet
werden, sondern einen freien „Blick“ zum Spre-
cher / Sänger haben (Abb. 2).
2) -Bei stummgeschalteter Audioanlage die Phan
tomspeisung am Mischpult / Verstärker einschal-
ten. Sollte keine Phantomspeisung vorhanden
sein oder diese nicht 48 V betragen, ein Phan-
tomspeisegerät einsetzen, z. B. EMA-200 von
IMG STAGELINE.
3) Einen Probebetrieb durchführen. Sollte der Ab-
stand, bei dem das Mikrofonsignal durchge-
schaltet wird und die rote LED (3) aufleuchtet,
zu gering sein, das Potentiometer (1) im Uhr-
zeigersinn drehen. Sollte der PB-05E bereits bei
einem zu großen Abstand durchschalten oder
sogar immer durchgeschaltet sein, das Potentio-
meter entsprechend gegen den Uhr zeigersinn
drehen.
Hinweise:
Es darf kein direktes Sonnenlicht auf die IR-LEDs fallen,
weil es einen sehr hohen IR-Anteil aufweist. Der PB-05E
kann dann nicht richtig schalten.
Schwarze Kleidung reflektiert das IR-Signal des PB-05E
schlecht. Eventuell den Schaltpunkt nach einem Klei-
dungswechsel nachjustieren.
