the battery provided with this product shall not be treated as
household waste.
On certain batteries this symbol might be used in combination
with a chemical symbol. The chemical symbols for mercury
(Hg) or lead (Pb) are added if the battery contains more than 0.0005%
mercury or 0.004% lead.
By ensuring these batteries are disposed of correctly, you will help prevent
potentially negative consequences for the environment and human health
which could otherwise be caused by inappropriate waste handling of the
battery. The recycling of the materials will help to conserve natural
resources.
In case of products that for safety, performance or data integrity reasons
require a permanent connection with an incorporated battery, this battery
should be replaced by qualified service staff only.
To ensure that the battery will be treated properly, hand over the product at
end-of-life to the applicable collection point for the recycling of electrical
and electronic equipment.
For all other batteries, please view the section on how to remove the battery
from the product safely. Hand the battery over to the applicable collection
point for the recycling of waste batteries.

Before use
Before using this cover, please read this User Guide thoroughly and
retain it for future reference.
PRSA-CL35 is the cover for Reader Pocket Edition™ (PRS-350) and
PRSA-CL65 is the cover for Reader Touch Edition™ (PRS-650).
Getting started
1 Open the cover of the battery case, and insert the battery
(supplied) (See fig. ).
Match on the battery with in the battery case.
Notes
• If you do not use the cover for a long period of time, remove the
battery to avoid damage from battery leakage and corrosion.
• Replace battery with a new battery when brightness is degraded.
If the battery cover comes off (See fig. )
The battery cover is designed to come off if opened with
excessive force. To reattach the cover, insert the hook into the hole
of the battery case from one side to the other .
2 Pull the tabs, and insert it into the holes of the Reader™
(See fig. ).
3 Raise the flexible light arm and bend it towards the Reader,
while adjusting the light unit to a suitable comfortable angle
(See fig. ).
When you raise the flexible light arm, the light is turned on
automatically, and when you place the flexible light arm back to
the initial position, the light is turned off automatically.
You can set the brightness of the light to (Standard) or (High).
If you need a brighter light, set the brightness control switch
(fig. - ) to (High).
Notes
• If the battery is running low, the difference in brightness between
(High) and (Standard) may be indistinguishable.
• If the light is not turned on automatically when you raise the flexible
light arm, check the remaining battery level and check the battery is
installed properly, or replace with a new battery.
Storing the flexible light arm and turning off
the light (See fig. )
Straighten the flexible light arm up as illustrated and rotate the light unit
to its original position, then lower it into the holding slot. The light is
turned off automatically.
Notes
• Be sure the flexible light arm is stored in the holding slot properly.
• If the light is not turned off automatically, check the light window is faced
to the device and the light unit stored in its original position as illustrated
- .
To remove the Reader
Pull the tabs, and remove the Reader (See fig. ).

Notes on use
• Do not place the unit in locations that are:
– Extremely hot or cold
– Dusty or dirty
– Very humid
– Vibrating
– Strong magnetic fields
– Sandy
– Exposed to direct sunlight
• Do not apply mechanical shock or drop the unit.
• Be sure that nothing metallic comes into contact with the metal parts of
this unit. If this happens, a short circuit may occur and the unit may be
damaged.
• Always keep the metal contacts clean.
• Do not disassemble or convert the unit.
• While the unit is in use, it gets warm. This is normal.
• Keep the unit away from TV or AM receivers, as it may disturb reception.
• To prevent possibly damaging the Reader, make sure that there is no dirt
or dust inside the cover or the Reader before use. If necessary, wipe the
cover or the Reader with a soft cloth, such as a cleaning cloth for
eyeglasses.
• Do not put any cards such as cash cards or credit cards with magnetic
coding near the magnet stored in the brightness control switch, light unit
or holding slot. Otherwise, your cards may become impaired due to the
magnetic effect.
• Do not directly look at the light.
On cleaning
Clean the unit with a soft dry cloth, or a soft cloth lightly moistened with a
mild detergent solution. Do not use any type of solvent, such as alcohol or
benzine, which may damage the finish.

Avant toute utilisation
Avant d’utiliser l’étui, lisez l’intégralité de ce Guide de l’utilisateur et
conservez-le pour toute consultation ultérieure.
Le PRSA-CL35 est l’étui du Reader Pocket Edition™ (PRS-350) et le
PRSA-CL65 est l’étui du Reader Touch Edition™ (PRS-650).
Préparation
1 Ouvrez le couvercle du logement de la pile et insérez la pile
(fournie) (voir fig. ).
Veillez à ce que le pôle de la pile corresponde au repère du
logement de la pile.
Remarques
• Si vous n’utilisez pas l’étui pendant une période prolongée, retirez la
pile afin d’éviter tout risque de fuite ou de corrosion de la pile, ce qui
pourrait endommager l’appareil.
• Remplacez la pile par une pile neuve lorsque la luminosité de l’écran
faiblit.
Si le couvercle de la pile se détache (voir fig. )
Le couvercle de la pile est conçu pour se détacher en cas
d’ouverture avec une force excessive. Pour réinstaller le
couvercle, insérez le crochet dans l’orifice du logement de la pile
d’un côté vers l’autre .
2 Tirez les languettes et insérez l’étui dans les orifices du
Reader™ (voir fig. ).
3 Relevez le bras d’éclairage flexible et pliez-le vers le Reader,
tout en réglant la lampe sur un angle confortable et adéquat
(voir fig. ).
Lorsque vous soulevez le bras d’éclairage flexible, la lumière
s’allume automatiquement, et lorsque vous le replacez dans sa
position initiale, la lumière s’éteint automatiquement.
Vous pouvez régler la luminosité de l’éclairage sur (Standard)
ou (Elevée).
Si vous avez besoin d’un éclairage plus lumineux, réglez le
commutateur de contrôle de la luminosité (fig. - ) sur
(Elevée).
Remarques
• Si la pile est faible, la différence de luminosité entre les réglages
(Elevée) et (Standard) peut être imperceptible.
• Si la lumière ne s’allume pas automatiquement lorsque vous soulevez
le bras d’éclairage flexible, vérifiez le niveau d’autonomie restante de
la pile et vérifiez si celle-ci est correctement installée, ou remplacez-
la par une pile neuve.

extinction de l’éclairage (voir fig. )
Redressez le bras d’éclairage flexible comme illustré et faites pivoter la
lampe pour la replacer dans sa position d’origine, puis abaissez
l’ensemble dans son logement. La lumière s’éteint automatiquement.
Remarques
• Assurez-vous que le bras d’éclairage flexible est correctement rangé
dans son logement.
• Si la lumière ne s’éteint pas automatiquement, assurez-vous que la vitre
de la lampe est orientée face à l’appareil et que la lampe est rangée dans
sa position d’origine, comme illustré - .
Pour retirer le Reader
Tirez les languettes et retirez le Reader (voir fig. ).

• N’appliquez pas de choc mécanique à l’étui et ne le laissez pas tomber.
• Veillez à ce qu’aucun objet métallique n’entre en contact avec les parties
métalliques de l’étui. Cela risquerait de provoquer un court-circuit et
d’endommager l’étui.
• Veillez à ce que les contacts métalliques restent propres.
• Ne démontez pas ou ne modifiez pas l’étui.
• En cours d’utilisation, l’étui chauffe. Ceci est normal.
• Eloignez l’étui des récepteurs radio ou télévision afin de ne pas perturber
la réception.
• Pour éviter toute détérioration du Reader, assurez-vous qu’il n’y a pas de
saleté ou de poussière à l’intérieur de l’étui ou du Reader avant de les
utiliser. Si nécessaire, essuyez l’étui ou le Reader à l’aide d’un chiffon
doux, tel qu’un chiffon à lunettes.
• Ne placez aucune carte, telle qu’une carte bancaire ou une carte de
crédit, dotée d’un codage magnétique à proximité de l’aimant intégré au
commutateur de contrôle de la luminosité, de la lampe ou du logement.
Sinon, l’effet magnétique risquerait d’endommager vos cartes.
• Ne regardez pas directement la lampe.
A propos du nettoyage
Nettoyez l’appareil à l’aide d’un chiffon doux et sec ou d’un chiffon doux
légèrement humidifié d’une solution détergente neutre. N’utilisez aucun
solvant, tels que de l’alcool ou de la benzine, qui pourrait endommager la
finition.

Vorbereitungen
Lesen Sie diese Betriebsanleitung bitte genau durch, bevor Sie die
Schutzhülle benutzen, und bewahren Sie sie zum späteren
Nachschlagen sorgfältig auf.
Das Modell PRSA-CL35 ist die Schutzhülle für den Reader Pocket
Edition™ (PRS-350), das Modell PRSA-CL65 für den Reader Touch
Edition™ (PRS-650).
Vorbereitungen
1 Öffnen Sie den Deckel des Batteriefachs und setzen Sie die
Batterie (mitgeliefert) ein (siehe Abb. ).
Richten Sie die Markierung an der Batterie dabei an der
Markierung im Batteriefach aus.
Hinweise
• Wenn Sie die Schutzhülle längere Zeit nicht benutzen wollen,
nehmen Sie die Batterie heraus, damit nicht durch eine auslaufende
oder korrodierte Batterie Schäden entstehen.
• Tauschen Sie die Batterie gegen eine neue aus, wenn die Helligkeit
nachlässt.
Wenn sich der Batteriefachdeckel löst (siehe Abb. )
Der Batteriefachdeckel ist so konzipiert, dass er sich löst, wenn er
mit zu viel Kraft geöffnet wird. Um den Deckel wieder anzubringen,
setzen Sie den Vorsprung in die Kerbe am Batteriefach ein, und
zwar zuerst auf der einen Seite und dann auf der anderen .
2 Ziehen Sie die Laschen auseinander und setzen Sie sie in die
Aussparungen am Reader™ ein (siehe Abb. ).
3 Ziehen Sie den flexiblen Beleuchtungsarm nach oben, biegen
Sie ihn dann zum Reader hin und stellen Sie das
Beleuchtungsteil gleichzeitig auf einen geeigneten Winkel ein
(siehe Abb. ).
Wenn Sie den flexiblen Beleuchtungsarm nach oben ziehen,
schaltet sich die Beleuchtung automatisch ein. Wenn Sie den
flexiblen Beleuchtungsarm wieder zurück in die Ausgangsposition
bringen, schaltet sich die Beleuchtung automatisch aus.
Sie können die Helligkeit der Beleuchtung auf (Standard) oder
(Hoch) einstellen.
Wenn Sie eine hellere Beleuchtung wünschen, stellen Sie den
Schalter für die Helligkeitseinstellung (Abb. - ) auf (Hoch).
Hinweise
• Bei einer schwachen Batterie ist zwischen (Hoch) und
(Standard) unter Umständen kein Unterschied mehr zu erkennen.
• Wenn Sie den flexiblen Beleuchtungsarm nach oben ziehen und sich
die Beleuchtung nicht automatisch einschaltet, prüfen Sie, ob die
Batterie richtig eingesetzt ist, prüfen Sie die Batterierestladung und
tauschen Sie die Batterie bei Bedarf gegen eine neue aus.

Verstauen des flexiblen Beleuchtungsarms
und Ausschalten des Lichts (siehe Abb. )
Ziehen Sie den flexiblen Beleuchtungsarm wie in der Abbildung
dargestellt gerade nach oben, drehen Sie das Beleuchtungsteil in
seine Ausgangsposition und klappen Sie den Beleuchtungsarm dann
um, so dass er in der Aussparung zu liegen kommt. Das Licht wird
automatisch ausgeschaltet.
Hinweise
• Achten Sie darauf, dass der flexible Beleuchtungsarm ordnungsgemäß in
der Aussparung sitzt.
• Wenn das Licht nicht automatisch ausgeschaltet wird, überprüfen Sie, ob
das Lichtfenster zum Gerät weist und das Beleuchtungsteil in seiner
Ausgangsposition sitzt, wie in Abbildung - dargestellt.
So nehmen Sie den Reader heraus
Ziehen Sie die Laschen auseinander und nehmen Sie den Reader
heraus (siehe Abb. ).

Hinweise zum Gebrauch
• Verwenden Sie das Gerät nicht an Orten, an denen es folgenden
Bedingungen ausgesetzt ist:
– extremen Temperaturen
– Staub oder Schmutz
– hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit
– Vibrationen
– starken Magnetfeldern
– Sand
– direktem Sonnenlicht
• Setzen Sie das Gerät keinen mechanischen Erschütterungen aus und
lassen Sie es nicht fallen.
• Achten Sie darauf, dass keine Metallgegenstände mit den Metallteilen
des Geräts in Berührung kommen. Andernfalls kann es zu einem
Kurzschluss kommen und das Gerät könnte beschädigt werden.
• Halten Sie die Metallkontakte sauber.
• Zerlegen Sie das Gerät nicht und nehmen Sie keine Veränderungen daran
vor.
• Das Gerät erwärmt sich während des Betriebs. Dabei handelt es sich
nicht um eine Störung.
• Halten Sie das Gerät von Fernseh- oder AM-Empfängern fern. Andernfalls
kann es den Empfang stören.
• Damit es nicht zu einer Beschädigung des Readers kommt, vergewissern
Sie sich vor der Verwendung der Schutzhülle, dass sich in der
Schutzhülle und auf dem Reader kein Staub oder Schmutz befindet.
Reinigen Sie die Schutzhülle oder den Reader bei Bedarf mit einem
weichen Tuch, beispielsweise einem Brillenputztuch.
• Halten Sie Magnetstreifenkarten wie z. B. Bank- oder Kreditkarten von
den Magneten im Schalter für die Helligkeitseinstellung, im
Beleuchtungsteil bzw. in der Aussparung fern. Andernfalls können die
Karten aufgrund der Magneten unbrauchbar werden.
• Schauen Sie nicht direkt in die Beleuchtung.
Reinigung
Reinigen Sie das Gerät mit einem weichen, trockenen Tuch oder einem
weichen Tuch, das Sie leicht mit einer milden Reinigungslösung
angefeuchtet haben. Verwenden Sie keine Lösungsmittel wie Alkohol oder
Benzin. Diese könnten die Oberfläche angreifen.
