4” Amplified Extension Speaker
Thank you for your choice of Speco Technologies’ Amplified Speaker. This unit is designed and manufactured AES4
to provide an economical solution to the traditional amplifier and speaker setup. The sturdy ABS construction and
power up to 18W max ensure a long and versatile life.
DESCRIPTION
The utilizes an integrated circuit (IC) for providing the necessary gain to raise a low audio input signal AES4
(approximately 1/8 Watts) to at least 10 Watts output. 16 Watts of audio can be obtained with less than 10%
distortion. A DC voltage source supplying 10 to 16 Volts at 1.5 Amperes is required to provide the proper power to
the unit. The unit’s power leads have an in-line fuse holder containing a 2 Ampere fuse for short circuit or
overload protection. In addition, the unit has built-in protection against reverse polarity of the power leads.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
1) The is constructed with an indexing, metal mounting bracket. AES4
2) Loosen the knobs connecting the metal bracket to the speaker and remove.
3) The bracket contains an opening to secure to the mounting surface with screws (included). It is advised to
secure the bracket before connecting the speaker.
4) Reconnect the bracket to the speaker, tilt the speaker to the desired angle, and tighten the knobs to lock
the speaker at the desired angle.
5) The DC power leads should be connected to a switched power source since the unit draws up to 200
milliamperes, even when no audio signal is present.
6) The 3.5mm jack should then be connected to your desired audio source.
7) Volume is set and controlled from the source.
