Safety
Do not overload thescale. Referto theweight capacity stated in 
thespecifications.
Inserting the battery
•   Whensold, there is aplastic film on thebattery which Note:
prevents it from discharging during storage. Thisplastic film 
must be removed first before using theproduct for thefirsttime.
•  Change thebattery when “Lo” appears on thedisplay.
•  Thekitchen scale is powered by 1×CR2032 battery (included).
1.  Turn thescale upsidedown. Openthebattery compartment 
by turning thecover clockwise.
2.  Remove thebattery.
3.  Insert anew battery into thecompartment.
4.  Refit thebattery cover by turning it anticlockwise.

Changing units
Hold down [ MODE ] for 5 seconds to 
change theunit of measurement from 
grams (g) to pounds and ounces (lb:oz).
Warning symbols
•  When themessage “Lo” is displayed, it is time to replace 
thebattery.
•  When themessage “Err” is displayed, themaximum weight 
has been exceeded.
Care and maintenance
•  Place thescale on ahard, flat and level surface for thebest 
accuracy.
•  Be careful when handling thescale; protect it from vibrations, 
blows and extreme temperatures.
•  Never use strong cleaning agents/solvents to clean 
theproduct. Wipeit clean with asoftcloth.
•  Never expose thescale to moisture orwater.
•  Remove thebattery from thescale if it is not to be used for 
anextended period.
•  Thescale is only intended for private and non-commercialuse.
•  Do not place anything onto thescale when it is not inuse.

Operating instructions
Thescale can be read in thefollowingunits: grams (g), pounds 
and ounces (Ib:oz). Thedefault setting is grams (g).
Weighing food, ingredients,etc.
1.  Place thescale on ahard and level surface.
2.  Press [ MODE ] to activate thescale. Thedefault unit of 
measurement is grams (g). Afterafew seconds, thereading 
“0” will appear on thedisplay. Thescale is now zeroed and 
can beused.
3.  If thefoodstuff to be weighed is held in acontainer such as abowl 
or saucer, theweight of thecontainer needs to be subtracted 
from thetotal weight by using theTARE function. Placetheempty 
container onto thescale. Theweight of thecontainer will appear on 
thedisplay. Press [ MODE ] to set thescale tozero.
4.  Place thefoodstuff into/onto thecontainer. Theweight 
displayed now will be theweight of thefoodstuffalone.
Tare function
1.  Turn on thescale and place theempty container onto 
thescale. Theweight will appear on thedisplay.
2.  Press [ MODE ] to set thescale tozero.   or   will appear 
on thedisplay. Addthefoodstuff to thecontainer and read 
thenew weight (thenew weight is that of thefoodstuff alone).
Handytip: Thisfunction can be useful when baking if you want to 
add several ingredients to abowl placed on thescale. Thescale 
can be zeroed before adding each new ingredient.
Automatic shut-off
If no key is pressed for 2 minutes, thescale switches off 
automatically. Thescale cannot be switched off manually.
This symbol indicates that this product should not 
be disposed of with general householdwaste. 
Thisapplies throughout theentire EU. Inorder to 
prevent any harm to theenvironment or health 
hazards caused by incorrect waste disposal, 
theproduct must be handed in for recycling so that 
thematerial can be disposed of in aresponsible 
manner. Whenrecycling your product, take it to 
your local collection facility or contact theplace 
of purchase. Theywill ensure that theproduct is 
disposed of in anenvironmentally sound manner.
