UNIFORM HEAT RECOVERY SYSTEM
This straightening iron features Conair’s
Instant Heat technology. Within this Instant
Heat technology there are 6 variable wet • dry
temperature settings for every type of hair, from
the finest to the curliest and most resistant.
Use the low settings for damp hair, and as your
hair dries turn to the Medium / Wet settings.
Once hair is completely dry, use the Medium to
High/Dry settings to complete the straightening
process.

And that’s not all. Conair’s professional
salon standards of engineering provide you
with a Uniform Heat Recovery System that
maintains the straightening iron at a constant
temperature.
There is a constant surge of power to ensure
that heat is continuously delivered for optimal
styling results, unlike other units that lose
heat during use. This provides consistent
styling power so that every strand of your
hair is set with the same level of heat and
comes out the same way for a perfect finish.

DANGER – Any appliance is electrically
live even when the switch is off. To reduce the
risk of death by electric shock:
1. Always unplug appliance immediately
after using.
2. Do not use while bathing or in a shower.
3. Do not place or store appliance where it
can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.
4. Do not place in, or drop into water or other
liquids.
5. If an appliance falls into water, unplug it
immediately. Do not reach into the water.

10. Do not use outdoors or operate where
aerosol (spray) products are being used or
where oxygen is being administered.
11. This straightener is hot when in use. Do
not let heated surfaces, touch eyes or skin.
12. Do not place the heated straightener
direct ly on any surface or on the appliance
power cord while it is hot or plugged in.
13. Before plugging in, read the information
about dual voltage contained in the instruc-
tion section of this manual.
14. Do not attempt to touch the housing of
your appliance near the straightening plates,
as it is hot when in use.

OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS
This straightening iron is intended for household
use. This unit is designed to operate at 120/240
volts AC. Use on Alternating Current (50/60
hertz) only.
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade
is wider than the other). As a safety feature,
this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one
way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a
qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat
this safety feature.
DUAL VOLTAGE
This straightening iron will automatically adjust to
the proper voltage. Use an adapter plug with cor-
rect configuration prior to use in outlet.
DRYING SYSTEM WITH
UNIQUE WET
• DRY DESIGN
This Wet • Dry Tourmaline Ceramic Straightener
features our exclusive vent and channel design,
allowing for use on dry or damp hair. When used
on damp hair, excess water is forced into chan-
nels where it can escape as steam. The steam
evaporates through the vents in the housing,
while the hair’s natural moisture is sealed into
the cuticle.
CAUTION: Steam evaporating through the vents
may be hot. During use, avoid touching or block-
ing the vents and direct drying vents away from
your scalp and face.
STRAIGHTENING BASICS
1. Plug the straightening iron cord into any
household outlet (120/240V).
2. Press the On/Off button. Select desired
temperature, or push the Wet or Dry
temperature button to choose preset
temperatures for specific hair conditions.
3. Red indicator light will blink until selected
temperature is reached, then will remain lit.
4. Push the Wet or Dry button, the red
indicator light will stop blinking and remain lit.
Green or yellow indicator light will blink until
the preset temperature reached , then will
remain lit . Press the Wet or Dry button again,
green or yellow light will go off.
5. To turn off the unit, press the On/Off button
again. Red indicator light will go off.
NOTE: Never leave your straightening iron
on and unattended. However, should you
fail to turn the unit off, it will shut itself off
automatically within 60 minutes.
WARNING: The straightening iron's tour-
maline ceramic-coated plates will get very
hot within a few seconds and should not
be placed in contact with the skin after the
straightening iron has been turned on.
Start with a hair section that is 2 in. wide
and no more than ½ in. thick. Open the iron
and place a hair section between the two hot
plates, close to the scalp. Trap hair between
the plates by firmly squeezing the handles
together. While maintaining the tension, slowly
pull the unit down along the hair section
toward the end. At the end of hair section,
release the pressure on the handle and allow
the hair section to slide out. Repeat process on
additional sections of hair until you achieve the
hair style you desire. It may be necessary to
repeat process on certain areas, depending on
the texture of your hair or how damp it is.
Some experience is necessary when learning to
use this straightening iron. After using the iron
several times, you will easily learn the ideal way
to straighten and style your hair.
NOTE: Please refer to the temperature setting
guide for heat settings, especially if using
your iron on damp hair.
STYLING WITH THE NEW EASY-GLIDE
FLOATING TOURMALINE
CERAMIC-COATED PLATES
The plates of your new straightening iron are
designed with a little give, to “float” in your iron.
This provides better contact with hair, eliminating
gaps for straighter results. The easy-glide
tourmaline ceramic surface is the one of the
latest – and best – technological advances in hair
appliances. The tourmaline ceramic even heat
distribution produces the ultimate in healthy,
shiny, silky-looking hair. You’ll find that hair glides
easily over the surface of the plates as you’re
straightening, and that it is easier to clean styling
product residue, etc. off the plates after each use.
The tourmaline ceramic surface also helps
smooth down flyaways and frizzies. As you
smooth your hair, heat is evenly distributed so
that the style you create has a salon-perfect,
silky-smooth, shiny finish. Hair also glides right
through the plates after it’s straightened.

Su plancha alisadora aprovecha la

de Conair. Además, cuenta con 6 opciones
de temperatura, para permitirle escoger la
temperatura perfecta para su tipo de cabello,
desde el más fino hasta el más grueso.
Si su cabello está húmedo, empiece con
un nivel de temperatura bajo, luego suba
progresivamente la temperatura mientras
el cabello seca. Una vez que el cabello
está completamente seco, utilice un nivel
de temperatura medio a alto / Seco para
finalizar el alisado.

14. El cuerpo del aparato cerca de las placas

DE OPERACIÓN
Para uso doméstico solamente. Úselo sola-
mente con Corriente Alterna de 120/240V
(50/60 Hz).
El cable de este aparato está dotado de una
clavija polarizada (una pata es más ancha
que otra). Como medida de seguridad, se
podrá enchufar de una sola manera en el
tomacorriente polarizado. Si no entrara en el
tomacorriente, inviértela. Si aún no entrara
completamente, comuníquese con un electri-
cista. No intente ir en contra de esta función
de seguridad.
DOBLE VOLTAJE
Este aparato es de doble voltaje. Se adaptará
automáticamente al voltaje adecuado. Puede
que sea necesario emplear un adaptador de
enchufe (no se incluye) para utilizarlo fuera de
los Estados Unidos.
EXCLUSIVO SISTEMA DE ALISADO PARA
CABELLO HÚMEDO • SECO
Este aparato puede usarse para alisar el
cabello húmedo o seco, por lo que está
equipado con nuestro exclusivo sistema de
conductos y rejillas. Cuando el cabello está
húmedo, el exceso de agua penetra en los
conductos donde se transforma en vapor.
Luego, el vapor sale por las rejillas. Este pro-
ceso preserva el balance hídrico del cabello.
PRECAUCIÓN: El vapor que sale de las rejillas
puede ser muy caliente. Evite tocar o bloquear
las rejillas durante el uso y no dirija el vapor
hacia el rostro o el cuero cabelludo.
FUNDAMENTOS DEL ALISADO
1. Enchufe el aparato en un tomacorriente de
120/240V. La luz roja se encenderá.
2. Oprima el botón ON/OFF. Elija la tempera-
tura deseada u oprima el botón "Wet"
(cabello húmedo) o "Dry" (cabello seco) para
utilizar temperaturas pre-programadas.
3. El indicador luminoso rojo parpadeará
hasta que la unidad alcance la temperatura
seleccionada.
4. Oprima el botón "Wet" o "Dry", el
indicador luminoso rojo se parará el centall-
ar. El indicador luminoso verde o amarillo
parpadeará hasta que la unidad alcance la
temperatura preprogramadas. Oprima el
botón "Wet" o " Dry", El indicador verde o
amarillo se apagará.
5. Para apagarlo, oprima el botón ON/OFF. El
indicador rojo se apagará.
NOTA: Nunca deje el aparato desatendido
después de encenderlo. Para su seguridad,
el aparato se apagará automáticamente
después de 60 minutos.
ADVERTENCIA: Las placas se volverán
extremadamente calientes en segundos.
Evite todo contacto con la piel después de
encender el aparato.
Divida el cabello en secciones de 2 x ½ pul-
gadas (5 x 1.5 cm). Coloque el aparato cerca
del cuero cabelludo. Abra las placas y ponga
una sección de cabello entre ellas. Cierre las
placas. Baje la plancha lentamente hasta las
puntas, manteniendo las placas bien cerra-
das. Afloje el cabello tras llegar a las puntas.
Repita el proceso con las otras secciones
de cabello. Según la textura del cabello, o
cuando el cabello está húmedo, puede que
sea necesario repetir el proceso varias veces.
Será necesario experimentar un poco
al principio. Con práctica, encontrará la
manera perfecta para alisar su cabello fácil y
rápidamente.
NOTA: Véase la tabla a continuación para
determinar qué nivel de temperatura usar,
especialmente si el cabello está húmedo.
PLACAS FLOTANTES CON REVESTIMIENTO
DE CERÁMICA Y TURMALINA
Su nueva plancha alisadora está equipada con
placas "flotantes" para asegurar un mejor
contacto con el cabello y producir resultados aún
más lisos. Las placas están cubiertas de una
capa de cerámica y turmalina increíblemente
suave, lo último en tecnología de aparatos de
peinado. La aleación de cerámica y turmalina
distribuye el calor uniformemente y deja el
cabello sedoso, brillante y resplandeciente de
salud. Notará que el cabello se desliza fácil-
mente entre las placas y que éstas son muy
