IMPORTANT SAFETY

13. Do not use an extension cord with this appli-

15. Before plugging in, read the information about
dual voltage contained in the instruction section
of this manual.

appliance near the straightening plates, as it is
hot when in use.

OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS
This fl at iron is intended for household use. This
unit is designed to operate at 120/240 volts AC.
Use on Alternating Current (50/60 hertz) only.
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade
is wider than the other). As a safety feature,
this plug will fi t in a polarized outlet only one
way. If the plug does not fi t fully in the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does not fi t, contact
a qualifi ed electrician. Do not attempt to defeat
this safety feature.
DUAL VOLTAGE
This fl at iron will automatically adjust to the
proper voltage. Use an adapter plug with correct
confi guration prior to use in outlet.
STRAIGHTENING BASICS
Plug the fl at iron cord into any household outlet
(120/240V). Press ON/OFF button. Red light will
blink until it reaches desired temperature setting
and then becomes solid. Never leave your fl at
iron on and unattended. However, should you
fail to turn the unit off, it will shut itself off
automatically within 60 minutes at 60 Hz (72
minutes at 50 Hz).
WARNING:
The flat iron’s double ceramic
™-coated
plates will get very hot within a few seconds
and should not be placed in contact with the
skin after the flat iron has been turned on.
Start with a hair section that is 2 inches (5 cm)
wide and no more than ½ inch (1.25 cm) thick.
Open the iron and place a hair section between
the two hot plates, close to the scalp. Trap hair
between the plates by fi rmly squeezing the
handles together. While maintaining the tension,
slowly pull the iron down along the hair section
toward the end. At the end of hair section, release
the pressure on the handle and allow the hair to
slide out. Repeat process on additional sections
of hair until you achieve the hair style you desire.
It may be necessary to repeat process on certain
areas, depending on the texture of your hair.
Some experience is necessary when learning to
use this fl at iron. After using the iron several
times, you will learn the ideal way to straighten
and style your hair easily.
NOTE: Please refer to the temperature setting
guide for heat settings.

One plate of your new fl at iron is designed with
a little give, to “fl oat” in the iron. This provides
better contact with hair and eliminates gaps to
achieve straighter results faster.

form Heat Recovery System to maintain the fl at
iron at a constant temperature.
A constant surge of power ensures that heat is
continuously delivered for optimal styling results,
unlike other units, which lose heat during use. It

strand of hair is set with the same level of heat
for uniform results and a perfect fi nish.

Para uso doméstico solamente. Este aparato ha
sido diseñado para funcionar con corriente de
120/240V CA. Utilícelo solamente con corriente
alterna (50/60 Hz).
El cable de este aparato está dotado de una
clavija polarizada (una pata es más ancha que
otra). Como medida de seguridad, se podrá en-
chufar de una sola manera en la toma de cor-
riente polarizada. Si no entrara en la toma de
corriente, inviértala. Si aún no entrara comple-
tamente, comuníquese con un electricista. No
intente ir en contra de esta función de seguridad.
DOBLE VOLTAJE
Este aparato es bitensión. Se adaptará automáti-
camente al voltaje adecuado. Puede que sea nece-
sario emplear un adaptador de enchufes (no se
incluye) para utilizarlo fuera de los Estados Unidos.
FUNDAMENTOS DEL ALISADO
Enchufe el aparato en una toma de corriente
de 120/240V. Oprima el botón de encendido/
apagado. El indicador luminoso rojo parpadeará
hasta que la unidad alcance la temperatura
seleccionada. Después, permanecerá encen-
dido. Nunca descuide ni abandone el aparato
después de encenderlo. Para su seguridad, el
aparato se apagará automáticamente después
de 60 minutos (con corriente de 60 Hz) o 72
minutos (con corriente de 50 Hz).
ADVERTENCIA: Las placas se volverán ex-
tremadamente calientes en segundos. Evite
el contacto con la piel después de encend-
er el aparato.
Divida el cabello en secciones de 2 pulgadas (5
cm) de ancho por ½ pulgada (1.5 cm) o menos
de espesor. Abra las placas y coloque una sección
de cabello entre ellas, cerca del cuero cabelludo.
Cierre las placas. Baje la plancha lentamente
hasta las puntas, manteniendo las placas bien
cerradas. Suelte el cabello tras llegar a las pun-
tas. Repita el proceso con cada sección de ca-
bello. Según la textura del cabello, puede que
sea necesario repetir el proceso varias veces en
cada sección.
Será necesario experimentar un poco al principio.
Con práctica, encontrará la manera perfecta para
alisar su cabello fácil y rápidamente.
NOTA: Véase la tabla a continuación para de-
terminar qué nivel de temperatura usar, según
el tipo de cabello.
