Before using the Class 2 Power Supply, read these

instructions carefully.

OPERATION

1. For dry location use only. Do not

expose to water.

2. When not in use, unplug unit completely.

3. Never operate this unit if the specification is out

of the rating.

4. When using this unit, a warm temperature

will be reached.

CAUTION

1. Risk of electric shock, dry location use only or do

not expose to liquid, vapor, or rain.

2. Do not short the polarity (output cord). Ensure jack

is plugged into the Trimmer unit before plugging the

adaptor into the outlet.

3. Do not operate any appliance which has a dam-

aged output cord or housing.

4. Always unplug the unit before cleaning or when

not in use.

5. This power unit is intended to be correctly ori-

ented in a vertical or floor mount position.

6. Be sure voltage is in correct voltage before plug-

ging in.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If your rechargeable trimmer does not seem to be

taking a charge, take the following troubleshooting

steps before returning it for repair:

1. Be sure the electrical outlet is working by plug-

ging in another appliance to test the outlet.

2. Make sure the electrical plug is not connected

to a switch which turns power off when lights are

turned off.

3. Be sure you have inserted the trimmer properly

into the charging stand, that all connections are

secure, and that the trimmer switch is in the “OFF”

position.

OPERATING

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Before using the clipper for the first time,

charge continuously for 16 hours. Maximum

battery capacity will only be reached after

3 charging and discharging cycles. Always

place the unit in the charging stand with

the on/off switch in the off position.

2. Always check to see if the charging light is on

when you place the trimmer in the charging stand.

The switch must face forward for the trimmer to

slide properly into the base and fixed firmly.

3. Plug the adaptor into any wall outlet (at the volt-

age listed on the label affixed to the adaptor). Unplug

adaptor when not in use.

4. The adaptor may become warm while charging.

This is normal.

5. Preserving the batteries: in order to maintain the

optimum capacity of the rechargeable batteries,

the clipper should be recharged for 16 hours

approximately every 3 months.

TAKING CARE OF YOUR TRIMMER

OILING THE BLADES

About once a month you should oil the trimmer blades

with the oil provided in your kit. It is best to do this over

a piece of newspaper. Turn the trimmer on and hold it so

that the blades are pointed downward. Spread one drop

of oil across the blades, then turn the trimmer off and

wipe away the excess oil with a soft cloth.

Be careful not to use too much oil and don’t oil your

trimmer more than necessary, as this could damage

the motor. (Never attempt to oil the motor bearing, as it

is permanently lubricated.) After oiling the blades, return

the trimmer and oil packet to the trimmer storage base.

Keep oil away from children.

BLADE CARE

Because the trimmer blades are precision-made for

a very special use, they should always be handled

with care. Each time you finish using the trimmer,

take the cleaning brush provided and brush away

any loose hair that has collected in the blades. Then

store the trimmer in its recharging storage base to

protect the blades until the next use.

Be especially careful when changing or adjusting

blades. When you have your trimmer serviced, be

sure that both blades are sharpened or replaced at

the same time.

To promote the long life of the appliance, use

your trimmer only for the purpose intended by the

manufacturer – to trim your beard and mustache.

THREE POSITION TAPER CONTROL

The Conair trimmer taper

control switch is positioned

at the back of the unit. You

can hold the trimmer in your

hand and adjust the switch as

needed. The taper control elimi-

nates the need in some situa-

tions for an attachment comb

because it lets you gradually adjust the

closeness of the cut. For closest cut and shortest hair,

push switch all the way to level #3. This is the setting

to use for the 2 day shave look. To increase the cut-

ting length, slowly push control down to level #2 or

#1 for longer cut. Note that too much clipped hair on

the clipper can slow down its operation. To remove it

without removing the blades simply use the enclosed

cleaning brush and gently sweep away the clipped

hair from cutting surfaces.

Note: The taper control only works with the facial

hair trimmer.

GROWING A BEARD AND MUSTACHE

There are three key factors that will determine

which beard or mustache style is best for you:

1. The shape and dimensions of your face.

2. The natural growth of your beard/ mustache.

3. The thickness of your beard/mustache. If you are

unsure about the type of beard or mustache that

would most suit your face, speak with a profes-

sional hair stylist and ask for an opinion on what

style would be best. Once your beard or mustache

has been styled, it is essential that you maintain its

appearance. To do this, use your trimmer to trim

your beard/mustache weekly.

For the best trimming results, your beard should be

slightly damp (NOT WET) when using your trimmer.

This will prevent the trimmer from removing more

hair than desired.

TYPES OF BEARDS/MUSTACHES

GETTING STARTED:

OUTLINING YOUR BEARD

1. It is always best to begin with a clean, slightly

damp beard.

2. After you have combed through your beard in the

direction it grows naturally, you will want to outline

the desired shape, beginning under your jawline.

3. Begin defining your beard’s

shape under your chin and

work upward on each side of

your face toward your ears.

Then define the upper outline of your beard across

your cheeks, past your sideburns, and toward

your hairline.

NOW YOU’RE READY TO TRIM

YOUR BEARD

1. The trimmer includes a five position comb for use

with the hair trimming blade (2-10mm) which provide

lengths of 3/32" (shortest) to 3/8" (longest).

2. To use the 5-position comb, slide the unit over

the trimmer blade and snap it

down into position. At first, until

you become familiar with the

adjustments, use the longest

trim setting. (You can always

go back and make your beard a little shorter.)

3. Begin trimming your beard using smooth,

even strokes. Start with your sideburns and work

downward toward your chin. (Never attempt to trim

against the natural growth of your beard because the

hair will be cut too short.)

ALWAYS TRIM YOUR MUSTACHE

FROM THE TOP DOWN

4. After your mustache has

been trimmed to the desired

length, remove the 5-position

comb and, using the blades

only, define the outline of the

bottom of your mustache.

5. Use the precision goatee trimmer blade for fine

detailing.

SHAVING FOIL

Your trimmer includes a shaving foil. When attached,

it will allow you to shave close and around your

facial hair to provide an extra clean look. Just move

the shaving head in an up and down gentle stroke to

remove any stray hairs. Be sure not to press to hard,

as that could cause some skin irritation.

After each use clean the shaving head as follows:

1. Make sure the appliance off.

2. Remove the shaver head from the unit.

3. Remove the foil head from the shaving head (press

the two buttons on either side of the shaving head

and pull the foil head away).

4. Use the cleaning brush to gently remove

any hairs from the cutter and shaving head.

ROTARY NOSE & EAR TRIMMER

For easy, safe grooming of long nose and ear hairs,

attach the rotary nose/ear trimmer and hold unit to

areas that need trimming.

1. Make sure the trimmer on/off switch is in the

“off” position

2. Detach normal trimming blade (see

“Replacement (Removal) of Blade Set”

TO TRIM YOUR MUSTACHE

1. For best results, start

with a clean, slightly damp

mustache.

2. Comb through your

mustache in the direction

it grows.

3. Place the 5-position comb over the facial hair

blade and snap it into position. It is a good idea to

start with the longest trim setting adjustment. (You

can always go back and cut your mustache more

closely with a shorter setting.)

4. If you decide you want

a closer trim, you can now

adjust the 5-position comb

attachment to a shorter

setting (such as 3/32" or

5/32") and go over your beard again until you

achieve the desired length.

BLENDING THE JAWLINE

1. The three jawline attachments will help you to

achieve a neat, finished trim under your chin. To use

one of the attachments, press it down over the trim-

mer blades until it clicks into position.

2. Hold the trimmer in an upright position and

begin trimming under your jawline, using short,

even strokes.

3. After your beard is blended, turn off the trimmer

and remove the attachment by gently pulling up on

tab.

BATTERY REMOVAL

1. Using a small Phillips head screwdriver, remove

the screws at the back of the trimmer.

2. Remove the bottom housing and push the batteries

out. Bring the batteries to the nearest collection center

for proper disposal. DO NOT throw the battery into the

normal municipal waste system.

3. Installing the nose & ear

body into the hexagonal hole

thumb pressing the top front part of the trim-

mer head and snap it off.

ON/OFF SWITCH

To operate, simply slide switch toward blade, to stop

push slide away from blade.

CARE OF YOUR TRIMMER

REPLACEMENT (REMOVAL) OF BLADE SET

To remove blade set from your trimmer, make sure

the trimmer is in the OFF position.

Remove the blade set by placing

thumb against the smaller cutter

and pushing forward, releasing

the cutter assembly from the

trimmer housing. Replace with

new cutting system and reverse

the removal procedure, only this

time place your thumb on the large cutter and snap

into place. Make sure the taper control is set to the

longest #1 position.

RESOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS

RECORTADORA PARA BARBA Y BIGOTE

LUBRICACIÓN DE LAS CUCHILLAS

Lubrique las cuchillas aproximadamente una vez al

mes, usando el aceite provisto. Para no ensuciar,

haga esto encima de un periódico. Sostenga el

aparato al revés y enciéndelo. Coloque unas gotas

de aceite sobre las cuchillas, apague el aparato,

y limpie el exceso de aceite con un paño suave.

No use demasiado aceite y no lubrique el aparato

más de lo necesario. Esto podría lastimar el

motor. Tampoco no intente lubricar las piezas del

motor. Éstas no necesitan lubricación. Después

de lubricar las cuchillas, ponga el aparato y el

aceite lubricante en la base. Mantenga el aceite

fuera del alcance de los niños.

LIMPIEZA DE LAS CUCHILLAS

Las cuchillas fueron diseñadas con precisión para

un uso específico, y deberían recibir un cuidado

muy especial. Limpie las cuchillas después de

cada uso con el cepillo de limpieza provisto, luego

regrese el aparato en la base de carga. Cuando

sea necesario cambiar o ajustar las cuchillas,

haga esto con sumo cuidado. Asegúrese que las

dos cuchillas siempre estén cambiadas o afiladas

al mismo tiempo.

Para disfrutar plenamente de su aparato, utilícelo

únicamente con el propósito para el cual fue

diseñado: Cortar barba y bigote.

BOTON REGULADOR DE CORTE

CON 3 POSICIONES

Su recortadora está equipada

con un botón que permite

ajustar lo largo del corte a

medida que corta la barba.

El botón está ubicado en la

parte trasera del aparato. El

botón de ajuste permite cortar

el pelo más corto o más largo,

sin necesidad de usar un peine-guía. Para un

corte más corto, empuje el botón hacia el nivel 3.

Esto le dará la apariencia de una barba de 2 días.

Para un corte más largo, empuje el botón hasta el

nivel 2 ó 1. Su cortadora puede perder velocidad si

recortes de pelo están trabados en las cuchillas.

Para limpiar las cuchillas sin sacarlas, utilice el

cepillo de limpieza provisto. El botón Im portant e:

regulador de corte sólo funciona con la cuchilla

para barba y bigote.

BARBAS Y BIGOTES

El tipo de barba o de bigote que más conviene a

su rostro depende de:

1. La forma y el tamaño de su rostro.

2. La forma del crecimiento natural de su barba

o de su bigote.

3. El espesor de su barba o de su bigote.

Si no está seguro del tipo de barba o bigote que

le conviene, pida consejo a un barbero. Después

de dar forma a su barba o a su bigote, deberá

mantener su aspecto, usando la recortadora una

vez por semana.

Para lograr resultados óptimos, humedezca liger-

amente su barba y su bigote antes de recortarlos

(no los moje). Esto evitará cortar demasiado pelo.

TIPOS DE BARBAS Y BIGOTES

CÓMO CORTAR SU BARBA

EL CONTORNEO

1. Se le hará más fácil el contorneo y el recorte si

su barba está limpia y ligeramente humedecida.

2. Peine su barba en la dirección del crecimiento

natural del pelo antes de empezar a darle forma.

3. Dé forma a su barba empezando por debajo de

la quijada y subiendo hacia la oreja por cada lado

del rostro. Siga dando forma al área de la mejilla, a

las patillas y al nacimiento del pelo.

EL RECORTE

1. Su cortadora incluye un peine-guía de 5 posicio-

nes para uso con la cuchilla para la barba, y que

corta el pelo de 2 mm a 10 mm.

2. Instale la guía encima de la cuchilla para la

barba. Le recomendamos que utilice la posición

más larga para empezar (siempre podrá volver a

acortar la barba).

3. Empiece a cortar su

barba con movimientos

parejos y suaves, desde las

patillas hasta la quijada.

Nunca corte en la direc-

ción opuesta al crecimiento natural del

pelo. El recorte resultaría demasiado corto.

4. Si desea un recorte aún más corto, escoja un

largo de recorte más corto, como 2 ó 4 mm, y siga

acortando su barba hasta conseguir el tamaño

deseado.

IGUALAR LA QUIJADA

1. Las guías para la quijada le permitirán lograr

un recorte neto y preciso. Ensarte la guía deseada

sobre las cuchillas, un lado tras otro, hasta que

caiga en posición.

2. Mantenga la cortadora recta

y corte el pelo con pequeños

movimientos parejos.

3. Después de terminar,

apague la cortadora y

saque la guía, jalando la

lengüeta.

CÓMO CORTAR SU BIGOTE

1. Se le hará más fácil

cortar su bigote si está

limpio y ligeramente

humedecido.

2. Peine su bigote en la

dirección del crecimiento

natural del pelo.

3. Instale la guía de 5 posiciones sobre las cuchillas.

Empiece con la posición más larga (siempre podrá

volver a acortar el bigote).

SIEMPRE CORTE SU BIGOTE

DESDE ARRIBA HASTA ABAJO

4. Después de terminar, saque la guía y dé forma a la

parte inferior de su bigote.

5. Utilice la cuchilla de precisión para cortes más

precisos.

CÓMO USAR LA RASURADORA

Su conjunto también incluye un cabezal de rasu-

radora que se adapta sobre la recortadora para

proporcionar un afeitado al ras extra limpio. Mueva

la rasuradora lentamente, sin apretar mucho. Limpie

la rasuradora después de cada uso:

1. Asegúrese que el aparato esté apagado (“OFF”).

2. Saque el cabezal de rasuradora.

3. Oprima los botones en ambos lados del cabezal

para sacar la hoja.

4. Limpie la hoja y el

cabezal con el cepillo de

limpieza provisto.

CORTAPELO PARA NARIZ Y OREJAS

Su aparato incluye una recortadora de vello de nariz y

orejas, para cortar su vello seguramente.

1. Asegúrese que el aparato esté apagado (“OFF”).

2. Retire el juego de cuchillas (véase la sección “

Cambio del juego de cuchillas”).

3. Para instalar el cortapelo para nariz y orejas:

• Introduzca el eje del cortapelo en el orificio hexago-

nal ubicado en el cabezal de la cortadora (Fig.1).

• Empuje hasta que haga clic y quede firme en su

lugar (Fig.2)

4. Para sacar el cortapelo para

nariz y orejas:

• Sostenga la cortadora según

se indica (Fig.3) y empuje el cor-

tapelo con el pulgar hasta des-

encajarse.

BOTÓN DE

ENCENDIDO/APAGADO

Para encender el aparato, deslice

el botón de encendido/apagado

hacia arriba (“ON”). Para apagar

el aparato, deslice el botón de encendido/apagado

hacia abajo (“OFF”).

MANTENIMIENTO DE LA

RECORTADORA

CAMBIO DEL JUEGO DE CUCHILLAS

Para sacar el juego de cuchillas: Apague el aparato

(OFF). Sostenga el aparato con el botón de encen-

dido/apagado frente su cuerpo y empuje la cuchilla

pequeña con el pulgar.

Para instalar el juego de cuchillas:

Asegúrese que el botón de ajuste

del recorte esté en la posición

más larga (no.1). Ensarte el juego

de cuchilla sobre el cabezal de la

recortadora y empuje la cuchilla

grande para encajarlo.

INSTRUCCIONES DE REMOCIÓN DE LA PILA

1. Remueva los tornillos ubicados en la parte trasera

del aparato, usando un destornillador cruciforme

pequeño.

2. Abra el aparato y retire la pila. Lleve la pila al cen-

tro de reciclaje más cercano. NO la tire a la basura.
