Keyless Chuck for Impact Drivers

FOR USE ONLY ON IMPACT DRIVERS

WARNING: For your own safety, read the tool instruction manual

before using any accessory. Failure to heed these warnings

may result in personal injury and serious damage to the tool and

the accessory. When servicing this tool, use only identical

replacement parts.

NOTE: This keyless chuck will fit any 1/4" (6.35mm) impact driver.

Keyless Single Sleeve Chuck

CAUTION: Always lock the trigger in the OFF position or discon-

nect from power source/battery pack before installing chuck.

To install chuck, pull the collar away from the front of the tool, as

shown. Insert the chuck and release the collar. The chuck is locked

in place.

To remove chuck, pull the collar away from the front of the tool.

Remove the chuck and release the collar.

To Install/Remove Bit

WARNING: Always wear ANSI Z.87.1 safety goggles or other

eye protection while operating this power tool.

1. Place the impact driver in the reverse position. Fully open the

chuck jaws by holding the chuck sleeve and depressing the

trigger once to activate the tool.

2. Insert the bit about 3/4" (19mm) into the chuck.

3. To close the chuck jaws, place the impact driver in the forward

position, hold the chuck sleeve and depress the trigger once.

4. Allow the chuck to ratchet for about 2 seconds to ensure that

the accessory is secure.

5. To remove accessory, place the tool in reverse. Hold the tool

close to the floor/ground and away from yourself and any

bystanders. Grasp the chuck sleeve firmly and run the tool at

full speed.

WARNING: Always ensure the bit is secure before starting the

tool. A loose bit may eject from tool causing possible personal injury.

WARNING: Grasp the chuck sleeve, not the bit, when running

the tool to avoid personal injury.

Drilling in Wood

Holes in wood can be made with the same twist drills used for metal.

These bits may overheat unless pulled out frequently to clear chips

from the flutes. For larger holes, use low speed wood bits. Work that

is likely to splinter should be backed up with a block of wood.

Drilling in Metals

Use a cutting lubricant when drilling metals. The exceptions are cast

iron and brass which should be drilled dry. The cutting lubricants that

work best are sulphurized cutting oil or lard oil; bacon grease will

also serve the purpose.

Drilling Masonry

Use carbide tipped masonry bits at low speeds. Keep even force on

the drill but not so much that you crack the brittle materials. A

smooth, even flow of dust indicates the proper drilling rate.

REMARQUE : Ce mandrin sans clé conviendra à toute visseuse à

percussion de 6,35 mm (1/4 po).

Mandrin sans clé à manchon unique

MISE EN GARDE : Toujours verrouiller la détente à la position

d'arrêt ou débrancher l'outil du bloc d'alimentation/bloc-piles avant

de poser le mandrin.

Pour la pose du mandrin, éloigner le collet de la partie avant de

l'outil, comme il est illustré. Insérer la mandrin, puis relâcher le collet.

Le mandrin est verrouillé en place.

Pour la dépose du mandrin, éloigner le collet de la partie avant de

l'outil. Déposer le mandrin, puis relâcher le collet.

Pose/dépose de la mèche

AVERTISSEMENT : Toujours porter des lunettes de sécurité con-

formes à ANSI Z.87.1 ou une protection oculaire pour l'utilisation de

cet outil électrique.

1. Mettre la visseuse à percussion en marche arrière. Ouvrir

entièrement les mâchoires du mandrin. Pour ce faire, tenir le

manchon du mandrin et enfoncer la détente une fois pour

activer l'outil.

2. Insérer la mèche à environ 19 mm (3/4 po) dans le mandrin.

3. Pour fermer les mâchoires du mandrin, mettre la visseuse à

percussion en marche avant, puis tenir le manchon du

mandrin et enfoncer la détente une fois.

4. Laisser le mandrin cliqueter à peu près 2 secondes pour

s'assurer que l'accessoire est en place.

5. Pour enlever l'accessoire, mettre l'outil en marche arrière.

Maintenir l'outil près du plancher/sol et loin de toute personne,

vous compris. Saisir fermement le manchon du mandrin, puis

faire fonctionner l'outil à plein régime.

AVERTISSEMENT : Toujours s'assurer que la mèche est bien

fixée avant de démarrer l'outil. Une mèche desserrée peut être éjec-

tée de l'outil et causer des blessures corporelles.

AVERTISSEMENT : Saisir le manchon du mandrin, pas la

mèche, au moment de faire fonctionner l'outil afin d'éviter des

blessures corporelles
