Bluetooth Speaker

Please read theentire instruction manual before using theproduct
and then save it for future reference. We reserve theright for any
errors in text or images and any necessary changes made to
technicaldata. In theevent of technical problems or other queries,
please contact our Customer Services.
Things to consider:
• Other wireless equipment using thesame frequency band can
reduce thetransmissionrange.
• Therange of all wireless equipment depends on thetype of
obstacles located between thetransmitter and thereceiver
(e.g. aconcrete wall will interfere with thesignal more than
aplasterboard wall).
If you experience problems, try thefollowing:
• Turn off any other existing wireless equipment to check whether
this is thecause of theproblem.
• Reposition thewireless equipment, shorten thedistance between
thetransmitter and thereceiver or reduce thenumber of
obstacles (walls, furniture,etc.) betweenthem.
Safety
• Do not place thespeaker where it could fall into water or other
liquid. Donot place any objects which contain liquid onto
thespeaker.
• Never subject thespeaker to high temperature, dust, heavy
vibration, impacts, damp or moisture.
• Do not disassemble or modify thespeaker in anyway.
• Never place any heavy objects on top of thespeaker.
• Air must always be allowed to circulate freely around thespeaker,
never cover it duringuse.
Care and maintenance
• Thespeaker should be cleaned by wiping it with adrycloth.
• If thespeaker is not to be used for along time, thebattery should
be charged every thirdmonth.
Disposal
This product should be disposed of in accordance with local
regulations. Ifyou are unsure how to proceed, contact your
localcouncil.

Buttons and functions Note: Ifyou are prompted to enter aPIN code on your device, you
should enter (four zeroes). Certain devices may also require 0000
you to approve theconnection.
If you have connected amobile phone to thespeaker via Bluetooth
and receive acall whilst you are listening to music, themusic will be
switched off automatically and thespeaker will emit aring signal.
Oncethecall has been ended, music playback will be resumed
(ifyour phone settings enable this).
If no connection has been established after 15 minutes,
theBluetooth mode will switch off automatically. Inorder to make
thespeaker detectable for other Bluetooth devices once more,
holdin [ ˃ll ] for approximately 3 seconds.
Changing to another Bluetooth device
1. Turn off Bluetooth on thefirst device.
2. Hold in [ ˃ll ] for 3 seconds in order to make thespeaker
detectable for other Bluetooth devices.
3. Activate Bluetooth on thenew device to be paired with thespeaker.
4. Follow theinstructions in the sectionabove.Bluetooth connection
Connecting an external device via the 3.5 mm
AUX IN jack
1. Connect a3.5 mm audio cable between theexternal audio
device and the3.5mm AUX-IN (8) jack on thespeaker.
2. Turn thespeaker on and begin playback on theexternal device.
Note:
Thespeaker starts in Bluetooth mode (refer to point 1 in
the section above) even if a3.5mm audio Bluetooth connection
cable has been connected. Playback from theAUX IN jack is not
affected bythis.
• Thespeaker can be connected to one device via Bluetooth
and to another via theAUX IN jack at thesametime. Press
[ ˃ll ] to toggle between devices. Ittakes 6–7 seconds Note:
for thespeaker to change from Bluetooth playback to AUX IN
playback.
• Thespeaker prioritises theBluetoothinput. Ifthespeaker is
connected via Bluetooth to amobile phone and to another
device via theAUX IN jack, theplayback from theAUX IN jack
will be interrupted when theplayback from theBluetooth device
begins.
• Thespeaker will then automatically switch to AUX IN playback if
theplayback from theBluetooth device is stopped.
Handsfree function
If your mobile phone is connected to thespeaker via Bluetooth,
thespeaker can be used as ahandsfree device.
Press [ ˃ll ] to answer anincomingcall. Press [ ˃ll ] again to end thecall.
LOCK feature
If [ LOCK-ON-OFF ] is set to the position, thebuttons of LOCK
thespeaker will be locked and calls can only be controlled from
themobilephone.
Volume limit
Thevolume can only be raised to acertain level using the [ + ] button
on thespeaker. Anaudible signal will be emitted when thespeaker
has reached its maximum volume setting. Thevolume can only be
raised further by using themobilephone.
Troubleshooting guide
TheBluetooth
speaker will not
switchon.
Thebattery might beflat. Recharge
thebattery.
No sound from
theexternal
device connected
via Bluetooth.
• Check thevolume and that play/pause
has been activated on thedevice.
• Make sure that theBluetooth connection
has been properly established.
• Test theplayback of thefile on thedevice
itself before connecting it to thespeaker.
• Try using anotherfile. Thefile may be
incompatible or damaged.
• Make sure that no other wireless devices
are disrupting thecurrent Bluetooth
connection.
• Is thespeaker in AUX INmode? Press
[ ˃ll ] to switch to Bluetoothmode.
No sound from
theexternal
device connected
via the3.5 mm
AUX IN socket.
• Check thevolume and that play/pause
has been activated on thedevice.
• Check that thecable connecting
thedevice and thespeaker is
undamaged and securely connected.
• Test theplayback of thefile on thedevice
itself before connecting it to thespeaker.
• Try using anotherfile. Thefile may be
incompatible or damaged.

Operating instructions
Charging
1. Connect theincluded charge lead to thecharging port (9) on
thespeaker and to acomputer or other USB charger.
2. Thecharging indicator shines orange while thebattery is
charging and goes out when thebattery is fully charged.
3. Thecharging indicator shines red when thebattery needs to be
charged.
Bluetooth connection
1. Turn thespeaker on by setting the [ LOCK-ON-OFF ] switch to
the position. Thespeaker will emit anaudible signal and ON
theBluetooth indicator will flash red/blue.
2. Activate Bluetooth on thedevice to be paired with thespeaker.
3. Thespeaker will appear on your device as , select it and BX55
pair it with your device.
4. Once connection has been established theblue LED indicator on
thespeaker will flash slowly.
5. Start playback on your device. Setthedesired volume levels
both on your device and thespeaker. Control theother playback
settings on theexternal device and on thespeaker.
