The Garmin GTM delivers Traf๎ฟc Message
Channel (TMC) information, including road
conditions and traf๎ฟc delays, to your GPS device.
When traf๎ฟc information is received, your GPS
device displays traf๎ฟc delays on the map. This
information is used to avoid traf๎ฟc delays and ๎ฟnd
the fastest routes.
The traf๎ฟc information is broadcast over the FM
Radio Data System (RDS). For coverage areas, refer
to the Garmin Web site at www.garmin.com
/fmtraf๎ฟc.
NOTE: The GTM and the GPS device must be in
data range of an FM station transmitting TMC data
to receive traf๎ฟc information.
NOTE: Garmin is not responsible for the accuracy
of the traf๎ฟc information. The GTM receives signals
from the traf๎ฟc service provider and displays that
information on your GPS device.

1. Remove the power cable from your GPS device.
2. Connect the small end of the GTM to the mini-
USB port on your GPS device.

3. Plug the vehicle power adapter on the GTM into
a power outlet in your vehicle.
4. The internal antenna is suf๎ฟcient in strong signal
areas. An external antenna may have been
included in the product box. To increase the
signal range, connect the external antenna to the
GTM. Use the attached suction cups to route the
external antenna on the windshield vertically, if
possible. Be sure not to obstruct the driverโs view.
