Thank you for selecting the Martin Oracle. The Oracle is a control interface for the
Alien 05 system and selected future Martin Architectural luminaires. Please refer to
the user manual for the connected device for a description of the available control
options.

• Do not install the device outdoors.
• Refer all service to a Martin service technician.
L O C A T I O N
The Oracle may be located in any dry area where the length of the cable run to the
connected device is 40 meters (131 ft.) or less.
P O W E R A N D D A T A C O N N E C T I O N
The Oracle both receives power and exchanges data with the connected device via a
network cable, available separately. No batteries or other power supply are required.
Due to its superior flexibility and resistance to wire fatigue, stranded cable is
recommended for connection. See page 4 for cable specifications.
To connect the Oracle
1 Lead one end of the network cable over the Oracle’s base and plug it into the RJ-45
socket on the back. Do not lead the cable under the ring base.
2 Lead the network cable to the device that the Oracle controls and plug the cable into
the RJ-45 socket labelled “In/Oracle”. Neatly coil and secure excess cable out of the
way.
3 To disconnect the cable, press the release lever in towards the connector body to
unlock it and then pull the connector out of the socket.
