Rack PDU (for Aggregate and Per Outlet Power Monitoring with Switching) S P E C I F I C A T I O N S H E E T
k e y f e a t u r e s a n d b e n e f i t s
Aggregate
power monitoring
Performs real-time Rack PDU aggregate and per outlet monitoring at the individual device level
Per outlet monitoring Per outlet monitoring provides data to determine if power distribution is accurate allowing for PUE calculation and individual
servers to be identified as candidates for additional capacity, redeployment or decommissioning, improving overall data
center efficiency; monitors current, voltage, kVA, kWhr, kW, Frequency, and Power Factor loads to monitor, document, and
manage operational power utilization
Remote power
monitoring and
switching controls
Allow users to remotely access, configure, or manage units; or manage individual or a group of outlets such as turning
outlets off that are not in use (preventing overloads) or recycling power to locked-up equipment, minimizing costly
downtime and travel times to service equipment
Low profile breakers Low profile circuit breakers reduce the PDU depth preventing obstruction within the back of the cabinet
Time
delay sequencing
Executes time delay sequencing of individual power outlets to avoid circuit overload due to the high in rush of current
at equipment start up
Environmental
monitoring
Includes two available ports for the connection of (optional) environmental sensors that monitor cabinet conditions
such as temperature, humidity and airflow to facilitate capacity management and identify potential causes of
equipment failure
Alarm thresholds Enables users to define critical power or environmental thresholds that, if reached, will prompt alarm notifications for
resolution to ensure operational resilience
LCD digital display Displays a visible on-unit warning when the current draw of rack PDU is close to the maximum Amp draw levels,
helping to quickly identify and resolve concerns and avoid risk of overloaded circuits
Integrated
locking receptacle
Protects against vibration and external elements that can easily dislodge external locking clips or guides; works with
any standard IEC power cord
Customizable
configurations
Offers standard or customizable builds with single or three phase options, a range of current ratings, and different
power outlets that can be adapted for varying power requirements
SmartZone™
Software integration
Captures actionable power and environmental data that can be utilized by SmartZone™ Software to enable data
center operational and energy efficiencies, capacity management, and resilience

Network-Enabled MSPO (Monitored and Switched Per Outlet) Series Rack Power Distribution Units (PDUs) safely
and efficiently manage and distribute power to installed equipment and are available in a range of electrical and outlet
configurations that cover all global regions. Network-Enabled MSPO Series Rack PDUs have remote switching
capabilities, enabling individual outlets or a group of outlets to be switched on or off to reboot equipment or restrict
unauthorized use of individual outlets. Power monitoring at the individual outlet level provides actionable management
data on the power consumption of each connected IT device enabling the redeployment or decommissioning of
individual servers to reclaim available or under-utilized power capacity. The Rack PDU is connected directly to the
network to provide local and remote monitoring of aggregate power, and environmental data, to quickly identify potential
power issues and reclaim available or under-utilized power capacity. Network-Enabled MS Series Rack PDUs integrate
with comprehensive DCIM software platforms, to access current and historical trending information and event
notification alarms. For more specialized applications, Panduit offers a custom made service which involves designing
and manufacturing a rack PDU to meet exact customer specifications.
