Basic Setup

PS2UTPEXT is comprised of two components - the local unit, which

attaches to the PS/2 mouse and keyboard, and the remote unit,

which connects to the computer you will be using.

Connecting the PS2UTPEXT local unit

1. Position the local unit near the mouse and keyboard.

2. Unplug the mouse and keyboard from the computer.

3. Insert the male PS/2 connector from the mouse and from the

keyboard into the PS/2 slots provided by the local unit. Each port

is labelled and colorcoded for simple installation.

Connecting the local and remote units

Using standard Cat5 cable, connect the local and remote units by

inserting each end of the cable (up to 100m) into the RJ45 ports

provided.

Connecting the PS2UTPEXT remote unit

1. Using the mouse and keyboard PS/2 (male) connectors

provided, connect the remote unit to the PS/2 ports in

which the mouse and keyboard were originally installed

(see Connecting the PS2UTPEXT local unit - step 2)
