CHANGING THE DISPLAY FROM FAHRENHEIT (°F)
OR CELSIUS (°C):
1. Make sure the thermometer is turned OFF.
2. Press and hold the blue SITE SELECTION button until C/F scale alternates on the display.
3. Release the SITE SELECTION button when the desired scale is shown (C or F).
4. The device will power off after 2 seconds.
5. After being turned ON again, the most recent temperature stored in memory will be
displayed in the newly chosen scale.
TEMPERATURE READINGS
Temperature readings vary from person to person. Although there is no one “normal” temperature
reading, a temperature, taken orally, ranging between 97°F and 100°F, is considered normal. A
rectal temperature is generally 1° higher and an underarm (axillary) temperature will be 1° lower.
The best method to determine your own normal temperature is to use the thermometer when you are
feeling well. Record your reading twice a day (early morning and late afternoon). Take the average of the
two temperatures. This is considered your normal body temperature. Any variation from it may indicate
some sort of illness and you should consult your physician.
BEFORE USE:
Your Vicks RapidRead Digital Thermometer is a 3-in-1 thermometer for oral,
rectal, or underarm use. Whichever method is used, it is recommended that for 15 minutes prior to
use, avoid eating or drinking any liquids, exercising, taking showers or baths, or smoking. Your Vicks
RapidRead may be used with or without probe covers.

LECTURAS DE TEMPERATURA
Las lecturas de temperatura varían de persona a persona. Aunque no hay una lectura de temperatura
“normal”, una temperatura, tomada oralmente, que oscila entre 97°F (36°C) y 100°F (37.8°C), es
considerada normal. Una temperatura rectal es generalmente 1° más alta y una temperatura axilar
(bajo el brazo) será 1° más baja.
El mejor método para determinar su propia temperatura normal es usar el termómetro cuando se sienta bien.
Registre su lectura dos veces al día (temprano en la mañana y al anochecer). Tome el promedio de las dos
temperaturas. Esto se considera su temperatura corporal normal. Cualquier variación de la misma puede
indicar algún tipo de enfermedad y debe consultar a su médico.
