Digital Spirit Level

Please read theentire instruction manual before use and save it for future
reference. Wereserve theright for any errors in text or images and for making any
necessary technical changes to this document. Ifyou should have any questions
concerning technical problems please contact our Customer Services.
Safety
• Always keep thespirit level out of thereach of children and animals.
• Remove exhausted batteries.
• Do not incinerate exhausted batteries.
• Do not short-circuit thebatteries.
• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Make sure that thebatteries are inserted as indicated by themarkings in
thebattery compartment.
Care and maintenance
The spirit level is aprecision instrument and must be handled with care.
Do not expose thespirit level to dust and moisture. The spirit level must not
be subjected to blows, vibration and extreme temperatures. If thespirit level
is to be unused for along time, remove thebatteries.
Disposal
Follow local ordinances when disposing of this product. If you are unsure
about how to dispose of this product contact local council.
Description
• 600 mm digital spirit level.
• Sturdy aluminium frame.
• Two bubble vials for level and plumb, high precision, deviation only ± 0.5 mm/m.
• Digital slope measurement, accuracy ± 0.2°. Resultcan be displayed in °,
%, mm/m or in/ft.
• V-shaped groove along theentire underside allows precision measurement
on pipes as well.
If you choose theunits in/ft, thedisplay
shows H = 6 7/8” (H=L·tan α, L = 3.28 ft,
α = 30°). If you choose slope in %,
thedisplay shows H = 57.72 (H=L·tan , α
L = 100, α = 30°).
Buttons
1. [CAL] Press to enter calibration mode.
2. [UNIT] ] Press to toggle between different display units: ° (degrees),
% (slope), mm/m and in/ft (rising - falling).
3. [Hold] Press to save thecurrently displayed data. Whenthe hold function
has been activated, thedisplay shows H”. Press[Hold] again to deac-“
tivate thefunction.
4. [REF] Press to save areference point. Whenthe reference point has been
saved, thedisplay shows S”. Press[REF] again to deactivate it.“
5. [Audio] Switch buzzer on/off. Whenthe buzzer is on, it sounds at 0°, 45°
and 90° (± 0.5°).
6. [ ] Press to switch on thespirit level. Holddown for about three seconds
to switch off thespirit level.

7. Showsgraphically whether thelevel is sloping up or down or is level.

Ifthe angle is greater than 45° but less
than 90° (H=L/tan ).α
NOTE: The display switches off automatically when thebatteries are low.
Tosave thebatteries there is an automatic switch-off function which switches
off thespirit level if it has been motionless for three minutes.
Use
1. Press [ ]; thedisplay comes on.
2. Placethe spirit level on alevel surface. Theslope is displayed directly as 0–90°.
3. Theangle is displayed in both directions.
Measurement from a reference surface
During measurement you can save ameasured
value as 0° so that it can be used as areference
for thenext measurement.
Example: You want to use theslope (A) as
areference for thenext measurement (B).
1. Place thespirit level on thereference surface (A).
2. Press [REF]. Thedisplay shows 0”.“
3. Place thespirit level on thenew measurement
surface (B).
4. Read off theangle between (A) and (B) on
thedisplay.
Calibrating the spirit level
1. Placethe spirit level on aat surface with aslope of less than 5°.
Ifthe slope is greater, thedisplay shows “Err”.
2. Holddown [CAL] for about ve seconds to start calibration.
3. Whenthe display shows “CAL 1”, release thebutton and wait for
theactual slope to be displayed.
4. Turnthe spirit level through 180° and put it back on thesame surface.
5. Holddown [CAL] for about ve seconds and release thebutton when
“CAL 2” appears.
6. “CAL 2” ashes three times and thereading is displayed again.
