Transformer for
Car HiFi Power Amplifiers
These operating instructions are intended for
users with basic knowledge in audio technol-
ogy. Please read the instructions carefully prior
to operation and keep them for later reference.
1 Applications
The transformer FGA-22 is used for connecting
the line inputs of a car HiFi power amplifier to the
speaker outputs of a car radio. Thus, the following
matching problems will be solved:
1. Reduction of the high output level of the car radio
for the sensitive line inputs of the car HiFi power
amplifier
2. Floating transmission of the car radio outputs (in-
dispensable in case of bridge connection in the car
radio!) to the unbalanced line inputs of the car HiFi
power amplifier
2 Safety Notes
The transformer corresponds to all required directives
of the EU and is therefore marked with .
•
Protect the transformer against humidity and heat
(admissible ambient temperature range
0 – 40 °C)
.
•
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth; never use
chemicals or water.
•
No guarantee claims for the transformer or liabil-
ity for any resulting personal damage or material
damage will be accepted if the transformer is used
for other purposes than originally intended or if it
is not correctly connected.
If the transformer is to be put out of oper-
ation definitively, take it to a local recycling
plant for a disposal which is not harmful to
the environment.
3 Connection
Always switch off the car HiFi system before
making any connections! Use a cable tie to fasten
the transformer at a suitable location in the vehicle.
3.1 Transformer outputs
1) Connect the red RCA inline jack via a screened
audio cable with RCA connectors to the right line
input of the car HiFi power amplifier.
2) Connect the white RCA inline jack via a screened
audio cable with RCA connectors to the left line
input of the car HiFi power amplifier.
3.2 Transformer inputs
Connect the transformer inputs to the speaker out-
puts of the car radio:
1) Connect the positive pole of the right speaker
output to the blue line and the corresponding
negative pole to the black-blue line.
2) -Connect the positive pole of the left speaker out
put to the green line and the corresponding neg-
ative pole to the black-green line.
3) If the car radio is only provided with a common
negative connection for both speakers, connect
the two black lines to the common negative con-
nection of the car radio.
4 Information concerning PowerTransmis-
sion
1. Car radios with an output power exceeding 20 W
will overload the transformer.
2. Due to the level reduction of the transformer, car
radios with an output power of less than 7 W may
not be able to drive the car HiFi power amplifier to
its full output power.

Übertrager für Car-HiFi-Endstufen
Diese Anleitung richtet sich an Benutzer mit
Grundkenntnissen in der Audiotechnik. Bitte
lesen Sie die Anleitung vor dem Betrieb gründ-
lich durch und heben Sie sie für ein späteres
Nachlesen auf.
1 Verwendungsmöglichkeiten
Der Übertrager FGA-22 dient zum Anschluss der
Line-Eingänge einer Car-HiFi-Endstufe an die Laut-
sprecherausgänge eines Autoradios. Folgende An-
passprobleme werden dadurch gelöst:
1. Reduzierung des hohen Ausgangspegels des
Auto radios für die empfindlichen Line-Eingänge
der Car-HiFi-Endstufe
2. Massefreie Übertragung der Autoradio-Ausgänge
(bei Brückenschaltung im Autoradio unbedingt er-
forderlich!) auf die asymmetrischen Line-Eingänge
der Car-HiFi-Endstufe
2 Hinweise für den sicheren Gebrauch
Der Übertrager entspricht allen relevanten Richtlinien
der EU und trägt deshalb das -Zeichen.
•
Schützen Sie den Übertrager vor Feuchtigkeit und
Hitze (zulässiger Einsatztemperaturbereich 0 °C bis
40 °C).
•
Verwenden Sie zum Reinigen nur ein trockenes,
weiches Tuch, niemals Chemikalien oder Wasser.
•
Wird der Übertrager zweckentfremdet oder nicht
richtig an geschlossen, kann keine Garantie für den
Übertrager und keine Haftung für daraus resultie-
rende Sach- oder Personenschäden übernommen
werden.
Soll der Übertrager endgültig aus dem
Betrieb genommen werden, übergeben
Sie ihn zur umweltgerechten Entsorgung
einem örtlichen Recyclingbetrieb.
3 Anschluss
Alle Anschlüsse dürfen nur bei ausgeschalteter
Car-HiFi-Anlage hergestellt werden! Den Über-
trager an geeigneter Stelle im Fahrzeug mit einem
Kabelbinder befestigen.
3.1 Übertragerausgänge
1) Die rote Cinch-Kupplung über ein abgeschirmtes
Cinch-Audiokabel mit dem rechten Line-Eingang
der Car-HiFi-Endstufe verbinden.
2) -Die weiße Cinch-Kupplung über ein abgeschirm
tes Cinch-Audiokabel mit dem linken Line-Ein-
gang der Car-HiFi-Endstufe verbinden.
3.2 Übertragereingänge
Die Übertragereingänge an die Lautsprecheraus-
gänge des Autoradios anschließen:
1) Den Pluspol des rechten Lautsprecherausgangs
mit der blauen Leitung verbinden und den da-
zugehörigen Minuspol mit der schwarzblauen
Leitung.
2) Den Pluspol des linken Lautsprecherausgangs mit
der grünen Leitung verbinden und den dazuge-
hörigen Minuspol mit der schwarzgrünen Leitung.
3) -Ist am Autoradio nur ein gemeinsamer Minusan
schluss für beide Lautsprecher vorhanden, dann
die beiden schwarzen Leitungen mit dem gemein-
samen Minusanschluss des Auto radios verbinden.
4 Information zur Leistungsübertragung
1. Der Übertrager wird durch Autoradios mit einer
Ausgangsleistung von mehr als 20 W überlastet.
2. Durch die Pegelabsenkung des Übertragers steu-
ern Autoradios mit einer Ausgangsleistung von
weniger als 7 W die Car-HiFi-Endstufe eventuell
nicht mehr ganz bis zur vollen Leistung aus.
