MAKING YOUR OWN STENCIL
Using self-adhesive paper, find a design
you like - a simple shape works best.
Place stencil material over picture. Trace
around image.
Cut away the pieces using a sharp blade.
IMPORTANT: Remember the bits that you cut away will be
coloured sections on your skin when you spray the design.
REMOVING TATTOOS
Most make up removers or soap and water will remove your
tattoo.

THERE IS GAS BUT NO COLOUR SPRAYING THROUGH
THE AIRBRUSH.
1. Using a pin, check the two small breather holes in the bot-
tle Nozzle are not blocked. If you cannot unblock them,
either wash the Nozzle or use a new one.
2.TurntheFlowAdjustmentclockwisetoallowmorecolour
to flow.
3. The Airbrush Nozzle may be blocked. Try turning the Flow
Adjustorfullyclockwiseandthenanti-clockwise.
4. Ensure you have fitted the Feeder Tube to the Nozzle.
5. The Airbrush may need cleaning.
THERE IS LITTLE GAS AND NO COLOUR SPRAYING
THROUGH THE AIRBRUSH.
This means the CO2 Gas Canister is low in pressure, either
from continuous spraying or because it is running out.
1. If you have been spraying continuously this lowers the gas
pressure. Leave the Airbrush for 10-15 minutes for the
pressure to recover.
2. If, after 10-15 minutes, the pressure has not recovered,
change the CO2 Gas Canister for a new one.
NOTE: If opening the Airbrush with a CO2 Gas Canister in
place, the CO2 gas will escape through the vent in the base
of the Airbrush. This can be very cold and care should be
taken to avoid holding the Airbrush at this point.
THE AIRBRUSH HAS BECOME NOISY DURING USE.
ThisisnormalandistheregulatoradjustingtheCO2 pressure.
THE TATTOO ISN’T DRYING VERY WELL.
This means the application of colour is too thick.
1. Turn the Flow Adjustor anti-clockwise to reduce the
colour flow.
2. Try spraying further away.
3.Remember to shake the Body Ink bottle before use,
it is common for the colour to separate slightly.
4. Ensure the Airbrush is kept moving while spraying.
THE COLOUR HAS RUN UNDER THE STENCIL.
This probably means the colour has been sprayed too thickly.
1.TurntheFlowAdjustoranti-clockwisetoreducethecolour
flow.
2. Try spraying further away. Remember to spray between
3-6 cm away from the skin.
3. To remove the excess colour from the stencil, wipe lightly
with some tissue and wait for any remaining colour to dry.
4. Ensure the stencil is pushed firmly against the skin.
MY TATTOO LOOKS DULL.
More than 1 layer of colour may be required to bring out the
true colour of your tattoo. For example, if you have naturally
pale skin you may require two applications. Alternatively, if
you are dark skinned then you may need to apply 2-3 layers
of the ink to show the true colour. Each layer should be
sprayed very finely, allowing 3-4 minutes for the ink to dry.
You must build up the colour.

APPLICATION
Your tattoo lasts longer if you exfoliate
your skin first. Removing dead skin helps
prevent the tattoo from flaking.
Choose your design.
Clean skin. Ensure all dirt, oils and
moisturisers are removed.
Remove the Stencil from the backing sheet,
and apply to the skin.
Hold the Airbrush 15-20 cm (6-8") away
fromstencil.ApplyaVERYLIGHTlayerof
ink in a short burst.
IMPORTANT: Applying too much ink may
cause seepage under the stencil edge.
Allow ink to dry. You may wish to use a
hairdryer to speed the process up. Apply
a second or third coat if necessary. Peel
off stencil.
Remove overspray with luke warm water or
an alcohol based cleanser.
Apply a small amount of Fixing Powder to
cover and protect your tattoo.
Now go out and show off your tattoo!
NOTE: The self adhesive stencil is effective for several
uses if returned carefully to its backing sheet after use. If
adhesiveness wears off, use the stencil glue supplied.
COMPONENTS
PATCHTEST
Patch test the body ink on a small area of your skin 24 hours
before use. If irritation occurs discontinue use. Only use inks
supplied by Rio.
TECHNIQUE
Pressing the trigger releases the air and
sprays colour out. Spray test onto a sheet
of paper.
REDUCING COLOUR FLOW
TurntheFlowAdjustoranti-clockwise.
Reduce the colour flow until you have a fine
spray.Buildupthinlayersofcolour.This
technique also shortens the drying time.
INCREASING COLOUR FLOW
TurntheFlowAdjustorclockwise.
IMPORTANT: For best results, spray in VERY short bursts.
It is important to have a fine spray of colour to achieve a
professional finish. If your results are not smooth, reduce
the colour flow and aim to build up the colour in several very
fine layers. Clean the Airbrush, Nozzle and Feeder Tube in
warm water and dry completely after use.
PREPARATION
Shake the Body Ink VIGOROUSLY for at
least 30 seconds.
Remove cap and push a Feeder Tube firmly
into a Nozzle.
Screw onto the bottle.
Attach the Flow Adjustor to the Body Ink
bottle.
Unscrew the Airbrush.
Place the CO2 Gas Canister in the bottom
half of the Airbrush.
Screw the top of the Airbrush fully down
until top and bottom meet. This pierces
the Canister to release the gas into the
Airbrush.
NOTE: If the Airbrush is opened after this
point all the gas will escape and a new
Canister will be needed.
Attach the Flow Adjustor to the Airbrush
by slotting it into place. Check the Flow
Adjustorisopen.
DO NOT twistthe FlowAdjustor when slottinginto place.
This can break the retaining fingers.
CLEANING
Turningthe Flow Adjustor fully bothways
will help to dislodge any dry colour in the
Airbrush Nozzle.
Unblock Nozzle breather holes using a pin.
Detach Tube. Thoroughly wash Flow
Adjusters, Nozzles and Feeder Tubes in
warm water.
CLEANING STENCILS
With the stencil on its backing sheet, use warm water and
a little detergent on a cloth or cotton wool to wash off the
colour. Allow to air dry.
UNBLOCKINGAIRBRUS H

1. Dismantle the Airbrush, separating the Flow Adjustor
fromtheCentralSpindle/CentreHole.
