WARNING

Connect the AC power adaptor to an easily accessible AC outlet. Should you notice an 
abnormality in the AC power adaptor, disconnect it from the AC outlet immediately.

To the wall outlet
1  Connect the AC adaptor to the DC IN 5.2V jack of the cradle.
2  Connect the plug of the AC power cord to the AC adaptor.
3  Connect the AC power cord to the wall outlet.
4  Place Rolly on the cradle.
Place Rolly on the cradle as shown below, and align the charging terminal of 
Rolly to the terminal of the cradle.
Play-button indicator
The Play-button indicator of Rolly lights up in orange, and charging of the 
battery in Rolly starts.
When charging is completed, the Play-button indicator goes out. Charging will 
take about 3 hours*.
*  Expected charging time to charge a fully discharged battery at 25 °C (77 °F). The 
charging time will vary depending on the condition of the battery or the charging 
environment.
Notes
While Rolly sits on the cradle, you can play music, but cannot make Rolly move. 
While Rolly is playing music, the battery is not charged.
Make sure that you orient Rolly correctly when you place it on the cradle. If you 
orient Rolly in the opposite direction, or place it on the cradle forcibly, you may mar 
Rolly.
Troubleshooting
Rolly cannot be placed on the cradle properly.
Rolly is oriented in the wrong direction. Place Rolly as illustrated in step 4 of 
“Charging Rolly.”
Rolly cannot be charged.
There is no battery in Rolly. After inserting the Rolly battery, charge the 
battery.
The Play-button indicator of Rolly goes out soon after charging starts.
The battery is sufficiently charged. When the Play-button indicator of Rolly 
goes out, charging is completed.
Precautions
Placement
Do not use or store the unit in the following places:
Anywhere extremely hot or cold. Never leave the unit under direct sunlight, 
near heaters, or in a car parked in the sun. The unit may malfunction or become 
deformed.
Anywhere humid, dusty, or where greasy fumes or steam are present
Near strong magnetic fields or mechanical vibration. In such locations, the unit 
may malfunction.
On a sandy beach or anywhere dusty. If sand or dust gets in the unit, it may 
malfunction. Sometimes this malfunction cannot be repaired.
Unstable surfaces. The unit may fall off, and cause injury or a malfunction.
Notes on the AC power adaptor (supplied)
Use the supplied AC power adaptor with this unit. If you use other AC power 
adaptors, a malfunction of the unit may occur.
Use the nearby wall outlet when using the AC power adaptor. Disconnect the 
AC power adaptor from the wall outlet immediately if any malfunction occurs 
while using the unit.
Do not use the AC power adaptor placed in a narrow space, such as between a 
wall and furniture.
To avoid the risk of fire or electric shock, do not use the unit exposed to liquid 
splashes or humidity. Do not put a water container, such as a vase, on top of the 
unit.
Notes on charging the battery
Use the unit to charge the Rolly Sound Entertainment Player only.
Do not cover the cradle, AC power adaptor, and Rolly with a blanket or the like 
during charging.
The cradle, AC power adaptor, and Rolly may be warm during charging. This is 
normal.
When you do not use the unit for a long time, unplug the AC power adaptor 
from the AC outlet and remove Rolly from the cradle. Disconnect the power 
cord holding it by the plug, never by the cord itself.
Handling
Do not apply shock to or drop the unit.
Keep the unit away from TV or radio receivers, as it may disturb reception of 
TV or radio receivers.
Unplug the AC power adaptor from the AC outlet after use. Disconnect the 
power cord holding it by the plug, never by the cord itself.
Be sure that nothing metallic comes into contact with the metal parts of this 
unit, as a short circuit may occur, and the unit may be damaged.
Do not connect the AC power adaptor to a transformer (intended for overseas 
use). The unit may generate heat and may be damaged.
Do not disassemble the cradle or AC power adaptor. Do not let any liquid seep 
into the unit, or any foreign object get into the unit.
When it is thundering, do not touch the power plug of the AC power adaptor.
Do not touch the AC power adaptor with wet hands.
Cleaning
Clean the unit with a soft, dry cloth, or a soft cloth lightly moistened with a mild 
detergent solution. Do not use any type of solvent, such as alcohol or benzine, 
which may damage the finish. Be careful not to let any liquid seep into the unit.
