How to Setup License Plate Recognition on A952 /
A426 / A826 and NVR3
Introduction
Cameras with built-in Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) capabilities are designed to
capture and process vehicle license plates. Integration with the NVR3 server strengthens
surveillance capabilities and contributes to more effective management of traffic and safety.
This document describes the step-by-step guide on how to set up license plate recognition on
A952, A426, or A826 and NVR3, which involves setting the camera first and then the server.
Camera Setting
1. Go to System > Events > Video Analytics.
2. On Video Analytics, select video “1” or video “2” to assign as the license plate recognition

3. On Selected Behaviors, select “License Plate Recognition”.
4. Click “On”.
5. On Behavior Specific Settings, click Edit.
6. On the License Plate List section, click Add License Plate.
7. Enter the License Plate Number and fill in the Description, as needed.
NOTE: Licensed plates are recognized according to three (3) categories by region,
namely: <General>, <Japan>, and <Taiwan>. When entering a Taiwan license plate
number, note that the hyphen ( - ) in the plate number is required. Licensed plate
numbers of other countries or regions can be recognized with or without hyphens and
spaces. See example below:

8. Click Save to apply the setting. Repeat the same process to add more license plates.
9. After finishing adding the license plate numbers, click List by Group from the License
Plate List section.
10. On the Group List section, click Add Group. Then, select the license plates to add into
the group.
