How to Setup Face Recognition on A952 / A426 / A826
and NVR3
Introduction
Setting up face recognition on a camera and server involves careful selection and integration
of hardware and software components to create a robust and efficient system. This document
describes the step-by-step guide to set up face recognition on A952, A426, or A826 and NVR3,
which involves setting the camera first then the server.
Camera Setting
1. Go to System > Events > Video Analytics.
2. On Video Analytics, select video “1” or video “2” to assign this face recognition event.
3. On Selected Behaviors, select “Face Recognition”.
4. Click “On”.

5. On Behavior Specific Settings, click Edit.
6. On the User List section, click Add User.
7. Enter the user’s name into Name and fill in the Description, as needed.

8. Click and choose the image files of the user. Upload at least three (3) images of
the user’s face.
The face must take up at least 12% and at most 25% of the image. See the formula
below on how to calculate the percentage range. More images with multiple angles
(both eyes should be revealed) or various looks of the user, e.g. with or without
eyeglasses, with different hairstyles, etc., are preferred.
The supported image formats are: JPEG, PNG, BMP.
Recommended image size is between 200 x 200 to 1920 x 1080 pixels.
9. Click Save to save and apply the settings. Repeat the same process to add more users.
