Safety
Warning: Thetip of thesoldering iron gets very hot. There is arisk of burns.
WARNING – FIRE HAZARD!
Things to think about before using thesoldering iron:
• Be careful when using it in thevicinity of combustible materials.
• Never use it where flammable or explosive substances are used
or stored.
• Heat can spread and ignite combustible materials which are not
within sight.
• Never leave theproduct unattended when it is connected to
thepower supply.
• Never expose it to rain or moisture.
• Always place it on theincluded stand when it is not in use.
• Make sure that you work on aheat-resistant and fireproof surface.
• Let it cool down naturally in theair after use. Never try to cool it
down in any other way.
• Never immerse it in water or other liquid.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children)
whose physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack
of experience and knowledge, prevents them from using
theappliance safely without supervision or instruction.
• Children shall not play with theappliance.
• If themains lead is damaged in any way it must be replaced by
aqualified electrician.

Changing the tip
1. Always unplug thesoldering iron and let it cool before changing
thetip.
Operating instructions
1. Check that thecontact surfaces of thetip are clean and undamaged.
2. Plug themains lead into awall socket. Thesoldering iron Note:
should only be connected to a230 V, 50 Hz electrical outlet.
4. Place thesoldering iron onto theincluded stand and let it
warm up (2–3 min).
5. “Tin” thehot tip of thesoldering iron by coating it with solder.
6. Use thesoldering iron to heat up thesoldering surfaces,
not thesolder.
7. Apply asufficient amount of solder to thejoint and then let
thejoint cool down.
8. Clean thetip of thesoldering iron by wiping it on awet sponge
while it is still hot.
9. Turn thesoldering iron off by setting thepower switch to the 0 position.
Unplug thesoldering iron from thewall socket and let it cool naturally.
Care and maintenance
• Unplug thesoldering iron and let it cool completely before putting
it away for storage.
• If thesoldering iron is not to be used for anextended period, it should
be unplugged and stored in adry location out of reach of children.
2. Release thelocking
collar by turning
thelock nut anti-
clockwise.
3. Remove thelocking collar and extract thetip.
4. Insert anew tip, refit thelocking collar and
tighten thelock nut.
Responsible disposal

applies throughout theentire EU. In order to prevent any
harm to theenvironment or health hazards caused by
incorrect waste disposal, theproduct must be handed
in for recycling so that thematerial can be disposed of
in aresponsible manner. When recycling your product,
take it to your local collection facility or contact theplace
of purchase. They will ensure that theproduct is
disposed of in anenvironmentally sound manner.
