HAZ is operated under unbalanced condion and could be pped o if tripod is not secured.
1. Remove mount head from package.
2. Set up tripod: The mount can be aached to a tripod
or a pier/minipier -16 threaded post. with a 3/8”
Extend the tripod legs. Adjust the tripod height and
level it. Tighten tripod leg locking knob to secure the
tripod. Shown below is a carbon ber tripod #8061A
which can be used for mulple mounts. Remove
center post and alignment peg, if there is any
installed. Retreat tripod supporng tray locking knob
so the tripod center bolt can be push up through the
tripod head.
3. Aach mount head: Align the HAZ mount head base
hole to the tripod center rod. Tighten the center bolt
to secure the mount. Tighten the tray lock to secure
the tripod legs.
If you have a HAZ71 mount, you may use a MiniPier.
Level the mount by adjusng the tripod legs. Use the
build-in Bubble Level Indicator or an external leveler
for this purpose.

4. Convert dovetail saddle: The latest HAZ mount
equips with a Vixen/Losmandy dual saddle to accept
a Vixen or a Losmandy-D dovetail mounng bar.
To convert dovetail saddle for binocular mounng.
(1) Remove dovetail saddle from the adapng plate
by unscrew four socket screws;
(2) Aach the saddle onto the top of the adapng
plate, aligned the moung holes and ghten the
screws.
Make sure the the Bino is facing upward!
5. Aach telescope: There are two arrows on the
dovetail saddle. One is for telescope mounng
(dovetail saddle side-mounted) and the other is for
binocular (dovetail up-mounted). Slide the
telescope/binocular into the dovetail saddle. Make
sure that the objecve end is poinng to the
direcon as the arrow mark on the dovetail pointed
to.
Tighten dovetail saddle locking screw to secure the
telescope
To prevent the scope sliding out from the dovetail
saddle by accident, you may thread a screw on the
boom of the dovetail bar as a safety stopper.
